Researchers questioned 500 male and 500 female console owners equally split between four age groups - teens, 20s, 30s and 40s. In total, 5.8 per cent of those questioned said they were interested in Microsoft's next-gen console.

And that's not all. 21.5 per cent of gamers said they couldn't give a flying one about any of the next-gen consoles, frankly - and since respondents were allowed to give multiple choice answers, it follows that almost all of those who said they were looking forward to at least one of the new consoles picked the PS3.

I think you should care more about how a little more than 20 percent of the people surveyed couldn't care less about next-gen systems. Maybe they don't know enough yet? That's a possbility but still its 21 percent.

Why would they. Its called the ps2, its called FF12... thats more than that 20 percent needs in the immediate future.

OLD. It's already been posted before, but I do have a comment. Reading alot of the other sites news story on this bit was hilarious. Almost universally, they said that Xbox was gaining acceptance in Japan, because the previous survey only had 2% of respondents favor the 360. That's a 200% increase!! :lol
