Jensen Huang on 5090 price: "Our enthusiasts won’t settle for sth slightly better or save $100 by choosing sth a bit worse. They just want the best."

I guess it depends on how you calculate

1500 for my lazy boy, 1500 for my tv, 2500 for my computer, 1000 for my ps5 and accessories, etc… that’s still only like 6500 lol.

I guess a 5090 is too good for me lol

$10,000 in your monitor and sound system? The best PC monitors are a fraction of that price, so I assume he is referring to some over the top sound system that probably a fraction of even 4090 owners have. Certainly overkill, and I'd rather invest in a good pair of headphones myself.

I wonder if those prices we were seeing last week were controlled leaks. Overall the pricing is great besides the 5090 but I wanna see benchmarks from regular people on the midrange cards.

It could sell for 1500 and still have great profit margins. The price gouging is insane.

I’m not mad because they’re rolling all their new tech out to their old cards anyway. When Jensen started rapid firing buzzwords I was fully expecting him to say their new model would only work on the new cards.

The real problem is AMD stinks and is seemingly always 4 steps behind, for similar prices. Now Nvidia is such a juggernaut that it’s gonna be hard for anyone to compete with their r&d budget.

where the fk the 10k comes from ? my whole PC with a high expensive board, 9800x3d, cooler, ddr5 ram of speed 7800. 8 lian li Sl inf fans and LCD screen for the corsair air and i am no where 2k$.

its your shitty expensive high end card that is alone the price of the whole PC minus the GPU.
even if you want to add 1500$ top of the line monitor and 500$ sound system. you are at 4k.

is his stuff made of gold or something for it to be 10k ?
He said "home theater"

If you have never priced out a real home theater, try it sometime. I mean a real home theater with 5.1/7.1/Atmos speakers, a good receiver, etc

$10k is a reasonable starting cost for a really good home theater

A card made for the rich and stupid. Indeed "the best" to play nothing demanding.
Its funny thinking a $2000 GPU makes a difference to someone who is considered "rich"

Oh and by far most "rich" people I know are far from stupid, hate to break that to you and your delusions

Very nice chair.

I was lucky enough to have a HM dealer in Indianapolis who had a 30 day trial and that chair just wasn't big enough for me being a very tall dude

Ended up going with Concept Seating 3142 chair and love the thing

Yup

Looking at it for a couple of years now, basement is in total revamp progress.

It goes fucking fast

GAF thinks an home theater is a Best Buy OLED with a sound bar..

On PC desk my dac/amp + headphones alone go to $3.3k

Home theater is much more expensive

And when you splurged that kind of money on the setup, you don’t plug a switch on it 😂. All the ones I’ve seen had PCs on the home theater rack.

32GB GDDR7 isn't cheap. And have you seen how small and packed the PCB is? You have no idea what you're talking about. Ironic that you chose a clown user name.
You're exactly the reason it's 2000 plus tax.
And wtf do gamers need 32gb for? Don't tell me future proofing. Because the people buying this, would only be buying the 6090 in 2 years anyway.

🤡😉

Telling themselves the rich are stupid is how the poor make themselves feel better but it is a delusion

The reality is the majority of millionaires are self-made and they are very smart and work hard to have gotten their wealth
if this were true then african children in the coal mines would be richer than elon musk.

Ya gotta be born rich to become rich. otherwise it's a 10% chance.

I'm not even buying one lol
But believe what you want and continue gaming on your 8gb videocard because "that's all a gamer needs"

I never said it makes a difference for the rich. Heres the thing, just because someone has money, doesnt mean they should just buy every stupid thing. Shocking I know. I can buy the card even as a nonrich guy, but why should I support scummy prices and garbage products just because I can? Hence the stupid part. Rich people can do stupid things and there are rich stupid people just like there are poor stupid people. Another shocking revelation. I know. Didnt you block me?

I mean you're wrong, and not just wrong but like super wrong

The "400" richest people in the country. This just proves my point.

Most people are hard working and decently smart- we wouldn't have a functioning society if that were not the case. Why is "millionaire" a coveted, rare title rather than a stage of life everyone naturally arrives at through hard work and dedication? It takes luck. You need extremely rich parents to become extremely rich.

bringing up Bezos who had millions of dollars given to him to start Amazon isn't exactly very fair. Especially since I'm willing to bet that him, and a lot of folk on that list have shares in the company who wrote this article.

It's only the best for a limited time, but the top cards cost a lot of money now, he means make me more profit for games that still don't look and play like they need all that power lol.

Oh you are blocked but sadly when someone quotes another person on my ignore list and they post while I am in a specific thread their post shows up

I actually needed to show ignored users just to reply to this

And sometimes people have such poor takes it deserves a response

Not sure if you go out of your way to have terrible takes or you actually believe stuff you post.

Good luck with it either way.

I am realy curious to see what's the dollar sales like for 4090 compared to lower-end cards like 4060. Are they really making more bank on the flagship card?

It probably costs Nvidia around $500 to build and ship a $4090, the median sell price is like $1800. I don't know how much the AIB's make on them, but you're looking at 400% margins and ~$1300 profit per sell. A $300 4060 generates $150 profit at absolute best, and more probably $100 or less, so you need to sell nearly 10x more to match the profits of the 4090. High end products are cash cows, which is why every company wants to be in the "premium" category, not low budget volume. AMD and Intel are so full of shit they're swimming in it when they spew their bullshit about wanting to be in the entry and mid range, the fact is they couldn't build a 90-class card at any price, Nvidia simply operates in a different generation.

He actually comparing the 4090/5090 buyers to the movie enthusiasts who are willing to pay huge amount of money for the best home theater setup. The seats alone might cost more than our PCs.

He knows what 99% of his cards are hooked up to, Nvidia's drivers log and report everything, they have mountains of data. He very literally sees them hooked up to $2000 monitors, $5000 TV's, and $3000 AVR's, he's not talking out of his ass here.
