We will AI’d up the ass, that is for sure.AMD is also betting heavy on AI. And so is Intel.
This will probably mean smaller and fewer advancements with each generation, as these companies will spend less and less money on GPU R&D.
Matrox.Time for 3dfx to make a comeback
Them 'rebranding' themselves as an AI chip-making company first makes sense, and I'm sure the stockholders will be happy by this news.
As for PC gamers, well, you still have AMD.
The market share says otherwise although I hope this means more people will make the switch to AMDIt's fine.
PC gamers love AMD.
Jesus fuck so we are in the hands of amd for the future of graphic hardware advancements?
That's because graphics rendering is on its way out, and graphics generation on its way in.AMD is also betting heavy on AI. And so is Intel.
This will probably mean smaller and fewer advancements with each generation, as these companies will spend less and less money on GPU R&D.
Some of these people would do well to learn the virtuous cycle when it comes to NvidiaYou guys really don’t understand how the stock market works do you.
"CEO of Nvidia, has articulated a change in the company's self-perception, no longer seeing it as exclusively a graphics card entity."
It's a nothingburger. AI will of course impact foundry capacity and thus graphic cards, but its not the end of GPUs for Nvidia. Much like AMD/Intel and almost everyone and their mother manufacturing silicon lately, AI is everything. For any foundry time you reserve for a graphic card, Nvidia, Intel & AMD can turn around and make an AI card that will sell for higher margins. I'm thinking that prices will increase or we'll be given a lower node than AI business.
....It's a nothingburger.
???I'm thinking that prices will increase or we'll be given a lower node than AI business.
NVIDIA's scraps to us lowly gamers as a secondary market to them moving forward will still outperform AMDs best efforts XDJesus fuck so we are in the hands of amd for the future of graphic hardware advancements?
....

Team Green has reportedly managed to captivate most of the AI markets into its hands since the firm has acquired a market share of more than 90% globally. The company's H100 AI GPUs, along with several other offerings, have been a huge hit in the markets, and they still are the top priority for firms involved in the business, with the likes of Meta and others reportedly acquiring huge sums of GPUs. NVIDIA has managed to create an "AI monopoly" over the markets where the firm's products are being utilized in every mainstream data center out there, and with the next-gen shift to the firm's Hopper H200 and Blackwell B100 AI accelerators, the growth will indeed skyrocket.
Bwahahaha. Thank you gamers for bootstrapping our ai company. Btw the 5090 arrives with 32gb memory and a revolutionary 64bit bus.NVIDIA: no longer a graphics company
CEO sent out an email on Friday evening saying that everything is moving to deep learning and We're no longer a graphics company. Nvidia, known for its longstanding role in video card manufacturing, has traditionally served both consumer and professional markets, maintaining a strong presence in...www.guru3d.com
Considering the gigantic profits that Nvidia is making, it's no wonder that AI has become the new focus for the company.
Of course, NVidia will still make GPUs for gaming and 3D productivity, but it will not be the driving force.
So the question is how it will affect PC gamers in the future.
I need to buy intel shares asap.
Chip manufacturers won’t care about your design, they will care how much money you can give them. I would think company at the top of AI curve will make sure they control 100% of the supply chain…Now the question is: Can all these other players design silicon that is as good as Nvidia's?
Looks like competitively priced discrete GPUs might be back on the table boys!
Theory: this could be the result of the bitcoin halving that happened last night.
