You got to say, there's many things that can be attributed to the death of Xbox custom hardware and exclusives.
Bad decisions with Xbone coupled to a poor product, gamepass scalping full price sales, poor first party management and lacklustre exclusives, and many others.
But really, Xbox marketing is the thing that turns me off and perhaps that is partially responsible for the above anyway.
I mean they seem to still hope that toxic influencers and a toxic fan base of rabid 90s adolescent snark merchants will attract people.
I hold my nose playing anything on Xbox to the point that these days I skip the games they release that I'd otherwise be interested in if not associated with Xbox.
Yes all companies do this kind of marketing these days, but paid or not, the Xbox gang just seems particularly dense, toxic and juvenile in a way that made me embarrassed to be associated with it.
I mean a game journalist who has been right about next to nothing since the Xsex / PS5 announcements telling someone who did the job why their opinion is wrong. It's difficult to comprehend the level of hubris that requires.
Spend Sony out of business hubris levels I guess.
