HOLD ONTO YUR BUTTZ

I only really care about the first one. The second one started off pretty strong, but the gymnastics part and the San Francisco (or was it San Diego?) part sucked. The third one is OK.

For anyone who is wondering about how the first movie holds up in HD. The answer is it holds up extremely well. There is an HD version that played on Showtime IIRC and it looked great. The only scenes I remember looking a little on the synthetic side were the sick triceratops scene and the brontosaurus-tree scene.

Pretty much the only reason to sit through The Lost World is for the late Pete Postlethwaite.

Yes. That's the only reason that can watch The Lost World, Roland Tembo is the only one that has a common sense, everyone in that movie was just too dumb to live

From Roger Ebert's review of the film.

There are some moments that work. Pete Postlethwaite, as a big game hunter who flies onto the island with a second wave of dinosaur mercenaries, doesn't step wrong; he plays a convincing if shallow character, even if he's called upon to make lengthy speeches in speeding Jeeps, and to utter arty lines about ``movable feasts'' and having ``spent enough time in the company of death.'' He alone among the major characters seems convinced that he is on an island with dinosaurs, and not merely in a special-effects movie about them.

Wait, Pete Postlethwaite died?? What the hell?

I can't believe I missed that news! I'm a sad panda now. R.I.P.

Ah well, brilliant actor, and certainly the best part about The Lost World.

It's was fairly recently (this past january).

Steven Spielberg called Postlethwaite "the best actor in the world" after working with him on The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

FUCK YEAH!

The special features are not relegated to a separate disc, so I will wait for the individual releases. The Alien and Star Wars sets put the meat of the bonus material on discs only available in the big sets, so I had to go for the big sets of those even if I wouldnt watch all the films.
