Paramount never made sense the way it was structured. They would have had to lay off most of the staff for it to make sense.

That's probably why Sony partnered with Apollo. Sony was going to just take the film studio and Paramount+. Apollo would take the rest of whatever Paramount owned.

Yeh, because that's what happened with Bloodborne wasn't it...

Oh wait, Bloodborne is one of FromSoftware's best games

Yup, but you forget how much Sony has changed in the last 10 years. Even the "hand holding" difference between GoW 2018 and Ragnarok was very noticeable. It's a legitimate thing to be concerned with seeing the only recent game from SIE in recent memory that I can think of which didn't include the things I mentioned was Returnal.

The only company that should have full creative control over From Soft is From Soft. There's a reason why people love their games and there's a reason why the "Soulslike" games have exploded in recent years. As long as Sony doesn't fuck with the creative process (even a tiny bit) and just focuses on publishing, marketing, etc...then cool.

I just want this to happen so any Sony studio could give Fromsoft tech support.
Or while they are at it, their Decima engine must have great Japanese support from their Kojima collaboration. Ahhh... a man can dream.

Watching the fanboys melting down over this is pretty funny.

Especially the ones pushing the line that its hypocritical of Sony fanboys to gloat over it. As if that's any sort of rebuttal when a lot of them are self-professed anti-woke types who are now acting just as douchily as the wokists did when they felt like they were culturally dominant!

When is it hypocisy and when is it just a consequence of past behaviours? Pick a lane.

Lol has nothing to do with gender, only common human stupidity. Whether people wanna be honest about it or not the common people of humanity dont have much creative/intellectual juice going on, the people who knew how good gaming was early on were a nontypical type of human being, ahead of the curb, it took others a long time to realize something others had years ago.

What im saying is taste isnt equal in value across all people and we have been in the mainstream gaming era for awhile now, its because of the common peoples lack of care/conviction to fight back against corporations with thier wallet at negative trends that has shaped our unfortunate toxic gaming landscape. That is why I wish gaming was still relatively niche.
Gaming hasn't been niche or even relatively niche for 4 decades, way to miss the point.

Imagine saying this with a straight face considering these are these studios latest game releases:

Bethesda: Red Fall, Starfield, Deathloop, Ghostwire Tokyo, etc. Literally the one game they released lately that was met with acclaim (Hi-Fi Rush) was a studio they tried to close and is now not even from Xbox.

Meanwhile From Software: Bloodborne, Dark Souls III, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Armored Core VI. (not counting smaller titles like VR and portable games)

only the dumbest sony fanboys could be excited about this. It's not like bungie where they'd been doing poorly for a while, and there is a possibility of improvement w acquisition. The only possibility here is negatively effecting fromsoft. Not to even mention the ramifications this has on kadokawas other holdings being aquired by sony, absolutely awful.
Did you miss the part that Kadokawa want to sell?

So we know they want to sell, who would you want them to sell to? Who would you prefer?

Would you prefer Kakao Entertainment buy them?

Imagine having Xbox in your name like an identity.

Dumb post.
Sony is one of the best publishers around.
It’s pretty much just them and Nintendo at the top.

Gotta say...man GHG GHG is absolutely cooking Thee Fuuuck out of some of y'all today with the receipts 🤣

Like I've said some stupid stuff in the past too but I don't go around gaslighting people to memory hole it 😂

Talking about some of the PS5 FUD I said in 2021. Yeah I fell for it a bit too, thank goodness I ran away from the cult

Potential benefits:

Bloodborne remaster or remake
Bloodborne on PC
Bloodborne 2

Negatives:
Hermen wants a GaaS title from them
He has them DEI their next title
Miyazaki leaves due to changes

It’s not worth the risk….

On one hand, id love bloodborne 2, on the other hand we'd probably end up with some sort of shitty GAAS game.
That said, it's great to see the meltdowns from the same people who supported the Activision acquisition.

A lot of talk on From but I’m interested in what they do with Dragon Ball.

Spike Chunsoft recently developed Sparking Zero.

The problem is that Bandai Namco owns Dragon Ball gaming rights (I might be wrong, because right now there is some doubts with who owns DB franchise rights ever since Akira Toriyama died). Unless of course Sony allows Spike to work in the Sparking Zero sequels ( and if Sony adquires Kadokawa).

Wouldn't this make Spike Chunsoft games Playstation exclusive as well? They were pretty Switch-focused this past gen.

How much do you think Sony will have to pay to keep Miyazaki there? If this goes through, he seems like a guy who would leave, and open his own studio.

Why did they confirm this ? Usually corporation do not comment. Is this some bargaining tactics to attract potential other buyers, investors ?
