Just received this knockoff one in the mail:

My comparison versus the real one:
Cube Shell:
WINNER [Knock-off] The knock-off has a grippier feel to it, versus the smooth plastic of the Antsy labs one. Immediately the knockoff feels better to hold in your hand. Despite this, there is a slight space in the seam of the knock off that implies less attention to construction, but it's not a deal breaker.
Smooth Stone:
WINNER [Original] While the knockoff almost won this one, the indent feels more like a hole for your thumb than something you can rub smoothly. In that sense, the original's shallow shape functions better as a result. The best of both worlds would be the knockoff material with the oiriginal's shape and depth (or lack thereof). Wins but only by an edge.
Spinning Wheel:
WINNER [Your Preference?] This one was tough. The original has a spinning wheel with some textured resistance and slightest bit of noise, giving a bit of satisfaction on spinning. The knockoff has zero resistance at all. Now on paper that sounds worse, but with zero resistance you get a completely smooth spinning motion. This slick smoothness is satisfying in it's own way. I find myself enjoying the smooth spin more, but I can't say if one is better than the other. This comes down to preference.
Switch:
WINNER [Knock-off] This was an easy win for the Knock-off. The switch has more resistance and really clunks down when you press it. As a result it is louder but oh so much more satisfying than the lighter, weaker switch in the original.
Gears and Ball:
WINNER [Original] The gears on the knock off spin completely smoothly with zero resistance, while the original has a textured feedback when rolling them, which is more satisfying with this type of spin. The metal balls are a tie, with the original's slightly barely edging it out with a smoother spin.
Click Buttons:
WINNER [Knock-off] Another easy win for the knock off. The buttons are silicon! The grip and squishability feels fantastic and is heads and shoulders above the plastic hard ones from the original. Click wise, they are identical (three varying clicks and two silent buttons.)
Joystick:
WINNER [Knock-off] While the original has a flat plane, 3DS-joystick style of movement, the knock-off has a more angled, N64 style of clicky analogue stick rotation. In terms of comfort, it felt more natural to have the stick angle in the direction of thumb movement than the flat back and forth of the original's. Unfortunately I'd find my thumb cramping a bit from the un-angled stick after a while.
So in conclusion, the Knock-off actually finds a few ways to surpass the original, while in other ways slightly missing the mark, or coming down to preference. If I were you, I would still buy the original since it's still hugely satisfying and supporting the creators is important. If you're still curious, give the knock off a shot. A lot of what the knock-off does better can be implemented into the original easily I think, and the moment they make said improvements, it'll be perfect and I'll be there day one to support them.
