Anything I should look for in a "quality" or are they all the same?

I'm really not sure, my seller stopped selling them soon after so I unfortunately can't give you the listing of the exact one I got.

Is yours from china? I worry it may get lost in shipping as I read some people whove been waiting for like 3 months

I could buy from ebay from usa, but its an extra $10 (Im in canada)

Yes, from China. For what it's worth, I've ordered tons of things from China from eBay and I haven't had one issue with any. Granted I'm in the US so I can't speak to Canada's customs etc. Typically takes about 2-3 weeks for delivery for most Chinese parcels.

Received mine today, I'm backer #40,453...not sure if that's early or late stage backer. Think I got in on it a couple weeks after the campaign launched.

I'm 57,761 so I guess I still have a little while to wait for this. Got two, one for each of my kids. I had been hoping they'd be Christmas presents, but at this point I'm going to wager they've forgotten all about being interested in these.

Has anyone tried successfully changing colors after ordering theirs? How long does it take for them to ship normally? There doesn't seem to be a way to change (or canceling for that matter) your order on the site.

I haven't tried it, but tbh I wouldn't recommend it. They took long enough to start shipping and I get the feeling they are still rather overwhelmed. If you tried to switch colors it could take you a month or longer IMO.

Where are you all getting your knock-offs from? I backed it but it seems like my order is in limbo at this point... (March? April? Nobody knows!) I'd like to get my hands on one sooner rather than later.

Ordered mine from Amazon, it shipped from China so it took a few weeks to get here. Was cheap. So far it is decent, not sure how long it will last before something breaks (the joystick is the part that feels like it would go first).

I am worried about shipping time. Reading some buyer feedback claiming they never got the product or that its taken months

Id love this for myself but also my students.

I don't remember which seller I used but it took about 3 weeks from order date to get it (East Coast US). Just stick to the high rated sellers and I think you'll be alright.

If you want to bulk buy alibaba's main site sells them in orders of 50 or 100+ at discounts.

A friend got 5 after I showed him the KS and he gave me one (the "retro" one with red/gray/black).

It does feel kind of "cheap" and plastic-y, for sure. I guess the only gripe is that the joystick/nub feels kind of awkward, like it's not centered properly or something. There seems to be more give in one direction than the others and there isn't a very large range of movement.

I also wish the switch provided more resistance like a light switch, but I guess it's fine for just going back and forth. The click buttons feel great, the gears and rolling/clicking ball feel good, and the spinning dial is whatever.

I hope similar products make their way to the market soon. I'd be down for a larger or more "premium" product.

Really bummed about the claims that it feels cheap, almost considering canceling my order. Was hoping it would have a good weight to it and feel nice to hold.

Yeah... I've got a clone on the way. Super disappointed to hear about the quality concerns.

For $25 I was hoping for a premium product.

Wow, lots of ratings on this site.

I think Ill do it from here instead of eBay or amazon.

Are they all the same knock off though?

Some go for $5.00, others go for $10. Is it reasonable to assume they are both the same thing?

There are different quality knockoffs out there and its kinda a crapshoot on picking a good one.
Back in the beginning of December I got several from this listing than were the best quality ones I've gotten so far and I like them better than the real one honestly.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Pre...32758758703.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.a5NrwH
I paid $8 a piece back then though and they've sold thousands so I don't think anyone can say if its still the same one or if they are selling a different clone at this point.

May as well bite. Ill buy 2 or 3 and hope for the best.

In the pics, the joy stick look HORRIBLY off place though. But u get what u pay for I guess

Edit: dammit they dont take PayPal. Ill have to find something else. Thanks though

I got mine today. It does feel a little cheap I'm afraid :/

Many of its components are also just too loud. I am going to look for something that feels a little more solid and has more silent elements.

I got the left one from that video for 6$ a pop. Feels super solid with a great almost rubberized texture.

I can PM you the seller if you want.

Edit: Sorry, I believe I found it http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fidget-Cube-...ss-Relief-ADHD-SELECT-YOUR-COLOR/302187312639

That's around $27.00 and ships within 20 days. Is there any option in the US equivalent to this fidget cube? Hopefully I can find it for a bit cheaper or faster. And how is the quality??

I mean, you've had it for a while, so has it survived?

--

Yes please-- does it have the silent buttons and clickable ball? And how is the joystick?

From what I gather, the best knockoffs imitate the real thing perfectly, but cost around $20, if Im not mistaken. Ill take that over the $10 version for myself. If the $6 version actually performs as well as the video, then that's one hell of a quality product for $6. I cant believe the real one is so expensive if cheaper ones are seriously competing.

Im trying to find a seller that:

-ships cheap to canada
-hopefully fast
-accepts paypal, or VISA (but accepts CAD payment)

The earlier link for the Chinese ebay site would have probably been fine, but they dont accept PayPal :(

It's really confusing... some sell for $6. Some for $20. Some have the clickable ball, good joystick, and silent buttons. Others dont.

Some sell from US, some sell from China. It's all very confusing and I dont want to buy the wrong version.

These are the ones I got and they were the good quality ones. Every piece identical to the original.

7 bucks a piece, PayPal supported, Ships for free worldwide.
You just are going to have to wait a bit until they arrive.

I bought two and they took a few weeks to arrive here in the Netherlands, but they've held up beautifully. No wear, no weird issues.

Wow that is shocking. Are you seriously telling me its the same from the vid with the click ball and silent buttons? Amazing.

So then what are the $20 versions like? Are they just better quality, or just marked up?

And what about the official ones? Are they seriously equal?

My only complaint is my colour choice isn't available, but $7 is too good to pass.

The wait will suck, but I may as well jump on now since there is no better option

Thanks a lot by the way

Edit: oh yeah, I didn't buy from this link because there were some negative feedback about people not getting their product. I want to get the $30 one from the UK seller I posted in the video, but that seems stupidly expensive if its the same exact one

Edit 2: I am also seeing "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." at the top of the link you provided, despite there being a listing when I scroll down...

I posted some pictures earlier in the thread:
Rubbery buttons with two silent ones, clickable ball, great almost rubber-like finish, switch clicks reliably.

Just order a few and forget about them for a while. Your wallet surely thanks you in advance.

Edit: I didn't know about the negative feedback. Could be that people are just still waiting for the damn things to arrive.
Honest to god, I forgot I had them coming in myself.

Oh yeah, and the seller is not taking new orders until February sixth.

Thanks Hoo-do. Just to reiterate, the link says "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." but I am looking at a listing with 12K available and 2.9K sold. So presumably, I shouldnt worry.

I see that faster shipping is available for just $5, and I think Ill do that and hope for the best. If the quality is as good as you say, Ill buy 2.

Are you in immediate need of a fidgeting device? For 5$ shipping why not just wait the two-three weeks.

Oh and it says over here the store is not taking new orders until February sixth. So you might want to wait for that.

I'm not sure. I paid $10 for mine and the quality is great. Has solid weight to it, all the buttons are quality. Been using it for a solid month now with no problems.

Thanks, unfortunately the site doesn't take PayPal, so I have to use eBay. I notice your joystick seems very high, while others seem disc-like. Im under the impression the disc-like version is the one more closely resembling the real one

Yeah, I saw that, thanks. Without paying for shipping, the wait time sees to be 12-41 days, which is too huge a range.

With $5 shipping, it becomes 8-20. I dont want an error at the end of 30-40 days to have to do the process again.

Im hoping 4A is the blue/grayish one

Its markup and its the price the market has shown consumers are willing to spent, the crappiest knockoffs, the good ones and the original likely all have manufacturing costs similar to each other.
For now the market has shown people are willing to shell out $20 so that's why many are priced at $20.
Resellers are making bank on these.
http://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/30/a-24-year-old-made-345000-by-beating-kickstarters-to-market.html
As with Cozy Bag, Chinese manufacturers on Alibaba had been offering comparable products since shortly after the Kickstarter appeared. Thanks to their experience, Jack and his partners were able to pivot quickly and use WordPress and its sales plugin WooComerce to launch their Stress Cube site by the end of November.
They spent less than $5,000 on start-up costs, mostly on a bulk order of 1,000 plastic cubes at $3.65 apiece. The plan was to turn around and sell each for $19.99.
"It just wasn't as apparent to me how powerful that can really be and how one Instagram ad can in three days generate $30,000 in sales," Jack says.
A week into operations, they sold over 100 Stress Cubes a day. At their peak, they sold about 800 a day. At that point, the 24-year-old and his partners had to bring on contractors to help with handling all the shipments and rent out a 400-square-foot office space.
When inventory from a second order dwindled, Jack and his two partners placed an order for 15,000 Stress Cubes and faced the terrifying prospect of wiring $70,000 to a factory in Shenzhen without insurance or any guarantee that the cubes would arrive.
"All I have is a Skype contact with some lady in China, and I don't know what her name is — not that that would matter if I knew her name, anyway," says Jack. "It was the scariest thing I've ever done."
But the shipment arrived, and the fear subsided. Though Stress Cube's founders still have cause to worry: A patent could shut down the operation that grossed them nearly $350,000 in just two months.
Jack is primarily concerned about patents. "I'm checking every other day to see if there's any new information," Jack says. But if he has to pivot again, that's no problem. "The world is filled with products. I don't need to sell Stress Cubes, I just want to sell products that people like," he says. He hopes to have 10 product lines within the next five years.

This thread piqued my interest this morning, now I want one. Think I could find one fairly easily while I'm in Japan? Otherwise I'll give this one from Taobao a shot when I get back to China.

Wait the left one feels rubberized and good? That's the one the reviewer said felt cheap. Shit. Well, I put in an order for the right one to compare to the official one. I really want one that has a rubberized grip.

Mine came in. Played with it for about 3 minutes.

A pen does the job better.

Gave it away as a birthday present.

Glad for their success. Neat idea. Not for me.

No, the left one was the high quality one. The right one (black and white) was the cheap one

Kinda how I feel after messing around with mine for a day after getting it. Overall I think the concept was better than the final product.

Also, the face with the worry stone indent thing seems useless? I thought that side would have some give to it or something, but its just a thumb shaped indention.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3WUjQMS-mY

This one is like $23 but seems pretty great, and ships fast

So many different fakes. That video has the same box I got ordering from Amazon (did the $11 MGK seller listed in the description for Prime shipping and possibly better quality) after seeing this thread a few days ago, but even it has a slightly different looking wheel on it so I don't know.

Amazon one has the rubber buttons with two silent, clickable ball, rubberized textured... generally seems like decent quality. Criticisms would be the analog stick isn't smooth (plus the plastic top spins freely) and none of the gears have any resistance. I'm fine with it, decent gadget/toy to try out on a whim. No idea if I'll actually end up using it much but no regrets on giving it a shot.

Also, the face with the worry stone indent thing seems useless? I thought that side would have some give to it or something, but its just a thumb shaped indention.
Stone is they key word there! If you haven't heard of them before worry stones are small smooth stones with thumb shaped indents that are supposed to be relaxing to rub and have been around for a long time. Might be useless but it's accurate to the name anyway.

Also, the face with the worry stone indent thing seems useless? I thought that side would have some give to it or something, but its just a thumb shaped indention.

I seriously thought the worry stone side was pretty useless until I started using it on my more textured knock-off. Now it's one of my favorite things on the cube. That bit on the official one is kind of whack though.

Been using my bootleg one on my bus rides to the secondary campus. Works well. I'll try to get one of the new bootlegs with texture and silent buttons for class, tho.

I also gave away the Kickstarter order to a friend. It's seriously a really good gift and he's been using it non-stop for the past two days.

Received my Gamer edition today. Not a fan of how loud some of the buttons are.

Any recommendations for one of the bootlegs? Would like to have grab a second one to see if it's more quiet.

I literally JUST ordered from this buyer, at the recommendation of a Gaffer

http://www.ebay.com/itm/172400874296

Note that the listing is over, but click on the seller's username to find his store, and you can see he sells it in another listing.

I made sure to look for the word "High quality" in the description, as I suspect the really cheap bootlegs (no clicking ball or silent buttons) are not marked as such, while the higher quality bootlegs are marked as higher quality.

Im hoping mine doesn't get lost in the mail since I dont have a tracking address :/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKWrBe3_7cs&t=404s

Another vid comparing low quality vs high quality fakes.

Seems the good quality ones come in a 2-piece box while the low quality one comes in a one-piece.

Edit: Screw it, bought the $20 version from the link in the video too because its on sale.

So, $30 for two cubes. Im a little anxious about the Chinese purchase because of the distance and no tracking info, but I should get the one from the US much earlier.

I guess I got lucky getting a decent fake one for around $7. Usual difference from the official is the smooth spinner and more of an analog stick rather than a PSP/3DS slider, which is nice because it can be pulled up with a springy snap back.

Yeah it seems as if the good quality fakes are clear to tell and some people just dont do the research

On ebay look for the word "high quality"

Hoo-do's seller seems like the cheapest "good quality" option

I decided to buy a $30 version because the dark gray color is too sexy

Im guessing the white ones will yellow in time right? Id get one of those but it seems it will yellow like all whites

Had forgotten I had ordered a third knock off to tear apart and it showed up yesterday.
Curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought it back but its not bringing back my third gear cause that thing went flying when I pried it open.
Its the non-slippery plastic and to me it is so much more fidgetable than the real thing even without that missing gear.
The ball bearing isn't clickable like the real one is but the joystick is which I actually enjoy a lot more.
And the switch is so firm and crisp to use compared to the mushy switch on the real one.
No play or rocking in the 5 buttons or the ball bearing on the clone while my real one does.
Honestly if I didn't know anything about fidget cubes and was handed this clone and a real one I'd think the clone was the original and the real one a knock off.
The knock offs rushed onto the market months earlier than the real thing feel higher quality.
I think this is a first for me where the real thing has been relegated to a shelf and I'm carrying around a clone in my pocket instead.

^ Interesting! Where'd you get it??

Because last I checked, the ones without the depressible steel ball/silent buttons were poor quality fakes.

These are the same ones with analog stick that presses down.

I recall the switch being quite poor, yet you're telling me its all better than the original?

Also interested in the source for the knock off. I've got a KS one on the way... I have no idea when. I find all of this annoying since Antsy insisted that theirs was a cut above the knockoffs when reception towards the real McCoy has been polarizing at best.

I got one that has a clickable bearing and everything. 2 silent buttons, 3 with clickies.

At first I thought I wouldn't mess with it much, but I have been picking it up absentmindedly and using it. Pretty neat little desk item.

After watching the Fidget Cube video Jim Sterling just put out I was like "why didn't I back this", and went to their website and saw why, $19 of shipping?! So I just ordered a knockoff one, I'm still going to buy the real deal once it gets more spread and doesn't have such stupid shipping price.
