wtf, I just encountered Pinocchio in the Accessory Shop in Traverse Town. Never had that cutscene before, not even when playing this on PS3.
How is he here if I'm about to encounter him in Monstro?
DDD makes that scene even more confusing.

Honestly the couple generic NPCs in KH1 is the oddest thing about the game.

Oh fuck me, didn't realize going through the door between Timeless River and Disney Castle recovers your drive gauge if you're still in drive mode. Burned through 3 drive recoveries leveling up Wisdom lol.

That's why I always substituted him out with the worlds character.
He's more useless than goofy!!! At least goofy has the HP to last through a fight, Donald uses all his magic in the first 2 minutes of a fight and is just a dead weight.

Another little detail in KH1 I never noticed before (and would have been relevant back in the day when as a kid I was a bit lost in Monstro).
If you talk to Gepetto a few times he warns you about ''green monsters'' that will try to push you deeper into the whale. Green Requiem heartless only spawn in front of the doors that lead to the correct path.

I've actually noticed that NPCs in general have quite a bit of unique dialogue than I remembered. I talked to Alice while she was imprisoned in Wonderland, and there were no less than 8 or so different conversations.

That Riku fight is as nail biting as ever (and I somehow still have that entire conversation memorized - I probably fought this dude hundreds of times when I was little before I actually beat him) but I managed to get him on my first try. I was on edge the entire time though. Phew. The cutscenes afterword is soooo good.

Is anti-sora form like a guarantee if you try to use drive forms in the Absent Silhouette fights? Just got anti-sora twice in succession against the Port Royal boss. Don't know her name.

No its not guaranteed it just adds a lot of anti points so if you've used drives a lot then driving while in battles with the organisation will likely end up with anti sora. I think it's like a x4 points added to your odds of getting anti sora. If you don't have final form to lower your anti points driving during those battles will be extremely risky.
Makes sense.
I did get awfully close, even with anti-sora, though... Might try again after the next world or two.

Yup. I'm doing a lot of talking to NPCs this playtrough regularly to see how their dialogue changes. Just got one with Aeris where she mentiones Cloud and I never seen that before either.
Is it just me or are regular enemies much more aggressive in FM vs the original KH2? Many of the enemies that have attacks that make them practically invincible for a while seem to spam those exact attacks. Currently against three Berserkers, and they all keep spamming the attack where they I guess shrink a bit and start stomping around with their... Hammers? Axes? Whatever those are.
Had more or less the same problem earlier with the towers, when you're escorting Minnie. They all kept doing the bend-backwards-and-SMASH attacks all the time, giving me a very little window to get any hits in at all.

60fps makes it waaaay tougher because the enemies are *just* faster enough to basically stunlock you if you aren't careful

How do people feel about the Gummi Ship stuff in 2? I'm actually playing through the missions and having a good time with it. It's certainly more fun and arcadey than 1. I hope they go even further with it in 3.

Pay attention to the environment around you. Many little secrets are scattered everywhere generally giving you items such as the postcards in Traverse Town.

Almost done with my first KH1 run, have all of the secret bosses done besides the Unknown, level 95/100, just need to grind neoshadows for the stormy gems to make Sora's best weapon and then I'll be done with that run and need to do a proud mode run after that and I believe I'm finished.

Any tips for KH1 Final boss? I'm around level 47 on normal difficulty. I get
down to the last health bar, just can't finish the final phase. I remember not being able to finish this on the ps2 version either.

Pretty much anywhere there's Heartless is a good grinding spot. If there's any forced fights go into it. I had early game Valor max'd out by Land of Dragons.

That fight is even worse on Level 1 runs since the hit counter is synced with your level. Certainly one of the most interesting of the Organization fights.

In the beginning of KH1, what should I pick between The Power of
Warrior, Mystic and Guardian?
Mystic/wand is the popular choice. A lot people recommend dropping Warrior/sword as well.
