Could of made 2 more AAAA games with that money.
Biggest flop of all time

Interesting. You think that one of the Halo games might have been higher? Or Suicide squad? I hadn't asked about that from anyone.
The sources all said 400 for just game was for sure wrong. But I didn't ask about other titles. Your talking a percentage right? Like even a small game like Phoenix rising?
damage control in da house
...I am talking about a single game. Is that what you are talking about?Yes, both of those games were in development hell with tons of workers and none of them had GaaS longevity. While Concord and FW were shut down, 343 was effectively rebranded with major leadership changes. Rocksteady also had similar departures.
Microsoft has Halo brand value so they don’t want to just shut it down, but the financial losses throughout the years may have been greater
No, just correctly reporting. Details actually matter
There is a reason everyone in blockbuster Hollywood movies is hot. Nobody wants to look at an eyesore. I’m not even saying you need to make a coomer bait game like The Last Descendant to sell your GaaS. Even Blizzard walks the tightrope really well with Overwatch. Nobody wants to play with aggressively ugly characters. It really boggles my mind that this game made it all the way to the finish line and nobody stepped in like “what the fuck are you guys doing”.
Massive outsourcing costs should kinda be an oxymoron.
im sorry i LOL'd at this. pleas don't ban me
Halo Infinite is still running with monthly events. Not until we see the financials of 343’s Halo Games
...I am talking about a single game. Is that what you are talking abiout?
We're talking Sony here, not Nintendo."Mr. Hulst, please report to Sony HQ in Japan, effective immediately."
Nope.
Not until we see the financials of 343’s Halo Games, Suicide Squad, or Ubisoft’s recent flops, and many others
None of them cost $400M and were shut down in their first week. What are you on?Yes. I suspect many of those games actually cost more to develop (even if they had higher sales), to see what was the greater failure you’d need to net out that amount.
We’ll never get concrete numbers but they’re all massive bombs.

Apparently Halo made back the development costs and made profit too.
How can you dance around this one? Those games sold hundreds of thousands of copies at minimum. Concord effectively sold 0.Nope.

True. Exact numbers would only be known if we get another leak of some kind usually. The leaks SUCk but they did destroy a lot of gamer myths. Which I sort of love.Yes. Maybe stop flip-flopping?Doesn’t matter if some of them had higher costs, the loss can still be greater
So you’re asking for proof, but won’t provide any yourself. Unless you can prove those games lost more money than Concord, it’s the biggest known flop of all time. You can’t go asking for evidence but provide none on your end.According to…?
Nope.

This was you.

Colin claimed it was 400M BEFORE those costs
And you insisted, repeatedly, that the budget could not possibly be $200 million and was probably closer to $50 million. You should probably sit this thread out man.
Even the studio wouldn't defend it any further. They just accepted it.James Sawyer Ford I think it's time to let go.
It’s the biggest known flop of all time. Perhaps there are bigger that we’re unaware of, but why bring them up when we haven’t got the faintest idea? Unless you can point us to credible figures for Halo Infinite, discussing it really does nothing. How long did Halo take to develop? How many employees, contractors, etc?
How much did it sell?
I am saying we can’t say Concord is the biggest flop of all time unless we know how other big title failures stack up when it comes to profit and loss.
You were told by Colin Moriarty is was over 400 million.I was told on good authority by gaf member Men_in_Boxes that the game barely scratched $100mil

If you’re happy thinking Halo Infinite lost more money because we don’t know the financials behind it, go right ahead.
It’s the biggest known one. You can’t take solace in the fact that the others may or may not have bombed as hard. I just know that if the situations were reversed and we knew Halo’s numbers and not Concord’s, you’d happily proclaim Halo as the biggest flop of all time and ask anyone to prove otherwise. We don’t know the cost, so we cannot say.
You apparently do know, so please post the facts that show Concord is the greatest singular loss of any video game project ever adjusted for inflation?

Biggest flop we know of. Find me those Halo Infinite receipts or GTFO.You have zero receipts
He said $400m not including studio acquisition cost. He didn't say it didn't include marketing, delays, and other ancillary costs.
They are on a roll

How the hell you buying a studio and give it 200 million, without seeing any game and the quality studio management ? Yes, i'm talking to you Hermen.
So Colin Moriarty figure wasn't actually insane at all? Holy shit, if these figures are true I can't see anything other a massive overvaluation
