Let It Die |OT| F2P roguelike Dark Souls with a skateboarding skeleton

I beat Jin-Die. She's a really dumb boss fight that doesn't at all explain her mechanics as there are times where she won't shoot despite being targeted onto you and you have to hit her at those moments but it's just super unclear the entire time.

Hopefully one day Sony will step up their shit and fix PSN. It's still not up here in the Netherlands (and apparently many other countries).

Just realized you can change the track that plays in the waiting room via the arcade. I'd still like a now playing but at least I can go out to check what track is playing if I'm milling about in the waiting room.

Really? Thats pretty awesome.

What, there's some kind of running jump attack if you mash X while sprinting. But it seems to come out randomly anywhere between 2 and 5 mashes of X. And X isn't the jump or attack button.

And some kind of weird gesture with R1+L1: http://i.imgur.com/4bd1VXr.gif

Are these mentioned in the game? I don't see them listed in the controls.

Hold X and THEN hit R2/L2 (whichever d-pad side it's equipped -- NOT always what hand it looks like on your character).

However it will fire and waste a bullet if 1) your mag is already full 2) you don't have ammo to reload, so keep that in mind.

Aaaahhhh ok thanks!

It has to do with how long you're running. If you run for long enough during a fight a prompt will come up telling you to hit X.

Guess its not for me. The game has high production values and could be a priced if not being F2P. I do like Suda though, his games are crazy. He needs to do a single player game soon.

I hate how this game when you die you lose everything. I don't want to start over at level 1, I don't care about losing equipment, but not starting all the way from scratch.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Drop kick isn't random. It works with a single press, you just have to sprint long enough to prime it first. It's a few seconds.

yeah, as someone with not a lot of time, that worries me

I am only at 3F (found the 2nd elevator on my journey), got lots of Blue Prints and crafting gear.

Game is cool so far!

So, to quit/save, you go to the fountain, right?

Ah, ok, thanks. I'll have to give that a try. Seems like it has a pretty long recovery though, so use wisely. I also should start leveling stamina.

Need some advice guys. Trying to do the quests that give you death metals. One says travel from IKEGARA to IMOKAWA-CHO without dodging and defeating all enemies. I done this but the quest didn't complete.

Never pushed circle and I ran around the map till every enemy was killed :/

Mission 81: What do you have to do?

I don't know if it's an incomplete spanish translation or what. It only says something like "Defeat viscelacious using 5"

If you shoot frogs with the fireworks launcher, they get grilled before you pick them up. Neat.

Last three hours just disappeared. Game is stupidly addictive.

One thing that annoys is not getting a chance to heal in a fight because enemies don't ever seem to leave you alone once they are agro'd. Feels overly harsh in a game that has permadeath.

Played through the first level. Game seems alright so far but I'm not sure if I'll keep playing for one reason alone: the UI is fucking horrendous. Couldn't tell how many bullets I had for my gun to know when I was going to have to reload, couldn't tell what mushroom I currently had 'flicked' to, etc. Why is it so god damn tiny.

You know you don't lose everything, right? You can pay a bit of (in game) money and just buy your character back straight away. I think the only things you lose are the clothes you were wearing when you died. That's it.

In that sense, it's a very forgiving roguelike imo.

This is strangely addictive. I think it's out of sheer curiosity what will happen next. So the items you can collect for weapons, should you be storing them until something you want?

If you mean the R&D materials, yes. Or just upgrade things you currently are able to upgrade if your storage is getting too full.

Seems you need to be running for a while for the jump kick action to activate.

Also how do you do executions?

I did them in the tutorial, but in the game I can't see the chance to doing, when you stagger an oponent, seems you don't have enought time to do it.

I believe you're supposed to find comic book pages that combine to explain how to defeat a boss.

Man I feel like this game is already becoming a boring grind. Just seems like nothing really changes.

Sssssssoooo.. Do they know it's not showing up on the store in parts of europe? I'm feeling the Xbox One launch blues here in sweden right now.

From the base mechanics this honestly feels like the most competent game Grasshopper has ever made. Maybe not as stylish or interesting but in terms of just gameplay, for once their game doesn't play like shit (and I'm a Grasshopper fan, but I play for the style and deal with the shovelware gameplay).

Definitely like it from the first few areas. So if you die you go back to level 1? There's no way to get your xp back like Souls?

Also what's up with 5 levels being MAX for each stat. Is that it for the whole game or just like for each area?

Is there a way to repair equipment?

Just figured this out, quest 113 and 144 popped together. You need to clear out the destination floor as well. Quest isn't clear, it makes it sound like you just have to travel to the destination floor, not clear it out too.

Different fighters have different max levels, it's not always 5 for every stat.

And there's a mushroom type that repairs equipment.

Disconnected me from the server in the expresss elevator and it charged me 5000 to salvage my character.

Shame the free to play server bullshit is going to burn so many people.

Oh lost all my quest progress too, nice! I think I'm going to uninstall this and wait for a few patches.

So what's the deal with the train and the invading players stuff?
Took the train beat up like 4 dudes, carried one back to the train and drove home. He's now in the toilet room knocked out. I don't understand.

Just beat the real first boss. Also, I'm not sure how to get someone past level 25 but I'm assuming that more powerful fighters will unlock the further you get.

From what I can tell, when you die you have to pick another fighter to get back to the floor you died on, and from there you have to find your old fighter and defeat them to get them back. Once you do it seems as though everything but what they were wearing is intact, including levels, inventory and unspent EXP.

You can also go to the fighter freezer and pay about 5000 coins to just buy your old fighter back, which to me seems like the obvious choice, unless the fee goes up every time or something.
