Looks like that one could be improved by default in terms of IQ, but at 30fps still..

Trust me buddy, you want a native PS5 port. A simple patch wouldn't bring back what was taken from us:

Same reason R* usually downgrades their single player games.. their damn Multiplayer modes.
It's the most infuriating shit ever, especially when downgrades get later ported on more powerful machines.

SkyHighTrees SkyHighTrees Add draw distance and AO to the list, massive difference for both.

AO difference is absolutely awful for characters especially:

But in general game had a unique pre-rendered quality thanks to it which is not there anymore.

And what's worse to me is draw distance, as you said LOD management was jaw dropping in 1.00 with practically non-existent pop-in, when any version after display tons of missing trees/shadows all over the place.

I mean look behind the characters, it's insane:

What do you think about Diablo IV, a Microsoft game, being enhanced for Ps5 Pro?

Thats going to be the best console version of the game, and developed & released by Microsoft.

"We didn't think there was an option to just leave it on the table. But we are getting great support from Sony in terms of helping us figure out what we're going to do with that. So it's an extra thing to think about as part of the development process, but we're excited for the possibilities," Tsujimoto says.

As we learned during our hands-on with the PS5 Pro last week, support for the platform can take many different forms. Most developers are introducing an enhanced mode that supports 4K resolution and high frame-rates, but other games, like Horizon, are much more granular. The team's indecision may mean that PS5 Pro support isn't available immediately at launch.

"We'd love to make it in time for launch, but we're very much in the middle of the process of deciding how that's going to look," Tsujimoto says.

They should just do a quick and dirty taa with pssr swap just like naughty dog and other studios without doing anything else and then go back later and explore different opportunities. I would much rather have that than playing new games in boost mode.

Finally had a chance to watch all the digital foundry videos on pro this weekend. Wow, it’s eye opening. Ray Tracing is adding a generational leap in some games. For example, that code masters racer they showed was clearly a generational leap, which digital foundry said. I think a lot of the people hating on the PS5 pro, have not seen it actually playing games. The improvement from the base PS5 is sickeningly impressive.

It is hard to tell from screenshots, for example, everyone was saying the horizon remake didn’t look as good as the original. Then I watched it in motion. Seeing it showed how full of shit some folks actually are.

If you don’t wanna spend money on the PS5 Pro, then I suggest you avoid those digital foundry vids for the rest of the generation. Sorry my guys, this is a huge upgrade.

IMO with a Wukong expansion coming out soon, I believe that will get a patch too. Can’t wait. I most hyped about Capcom games, because I know they will do a great job of implementing the pro. Drone were two expansion and monster Hunter Wilds will be sick. Wolverine is exciting too, if it makes the PS5. Can’t wait for expansion on the Pro. Very exciting knowing I have this coming in the mail in November. It is hard not to get excited for a raw graphics card upgrade for my PS5!!!!

Yeah I feel like games that we're expecting for Enhanced support will not make it by launch, but into the next year. Nothing but good things there.

It's very likely the PS5 Pro will render the game at a locked 4K Resolution at 60fps. It uses dynamic range for the resolution, so locked 4K for the Pro.
Having played the game for a while, I would say that it's really all that's needed as the game is really well optimized. It doesn't even really need a Pro enhancement, so it could very well just use the boost mode to minimize the dynamic range.

I mean....the game is gorgeous as is. I'm not sure how they would upgrade it
This is what I wrote to an unnamed tech-channel staffer when I played the game prior to PS5Pro reveal 🤷‍♀️

"imagine it with that extra bit of clarity in distance in scenes when DRS goes low - both from higher DRS range and superior reconstruction, the extra image stability that ML AA provides over current version, and most importantly - if they added RT to the presentation as with all the shiny stuff in scene, that could be pretty game changing."

It could be elevated - not because it needs it - but because it deserves to be in public eye :messenger_sunglasses:

Yeah I think the 2x and 4x zoom might be taking away from what the complete picture looks like at once. The png comparisons someone posted are great examples.

Astro Bot will become native 4K60 locked via boost mode...

World had a great implementation on PS4 Pro (that still rocks on PS5). I am not too worried.

Astrobot is one of those games that doesn't really need many improvements. Framerate is already locked, game is one of the sharpest game on PS5, TAA doing a great job already as the game is super stable in motion. Bloodborne and Returnal on the other hand...

Is it native 4K? Is it ray traced?
I mean we’re talking about leaving a bunch of GPU cores sitting there on a flagship 1st party title for a system that’s fucking 700 dollars. Throw us a bone here and turn them the fuck on and do something with them. Anything. Sony needs to screw their brains back in and flip the switch back on.

I'm with that. I don't understand all those claiming they 'can't see any difference' (most prevalent on PS only sites such as pushsquare, oddly enough) and getting real worked up over it too. Excess of cope I suppose but, as you say, they'd better get ready to copy and paste that claim a whole lot over the next few years.

Yeah it's because of the price that they're bickering. I'm paying no mind.

In that TLOU2 vid on DF. At the end scene when Ellie was running in the town, even though it was short that looked really amazing on my LG B3.

idk.....I just don't know if it matters for this particular game. It's almost like they're not going after super visuals. But it's possibly make it look better and it's worth it, then I guess.

Can anyone clarify if Cyberpunk 2077 work has really ended by CDPR?

Last year i was trying to contact their support, bcause of a ridiculous grass generation bug on TW3, and after I got thru the bot answers someone from their team plainly stated they ENDED support for the witcher and couldn't fix it.

So for that game, it's no chance they release a pro patch. The game will still be full of bugs on the grass placement and generation.

Now, for Cyberpunk, did it really end already? If so, it's also no chance they do anything with it. And Cyberpunk has absolutely awful FSR is motion, it actually was better when it released for PS5, than it is now with the FSR garbage

Yeah so greedy its not on the list. Guaranteed rockstar just avoiding it so they resell it again as a new ps5/xsx port. Why sell it once when you can sell it 3 times xD
1000% they don't release the 60fps patch to do a ps5 pro version

1 month till this shit. im tryna test it fr.

Little list:
-Ghostwire Tokyo (all modes)
-Elden Ring (all modes - will they all lock to 60? (x) doubt)
-Spiderman 1 remastered, Spiderman MM, Spiderman 2 (all modes + vrr)
-Maneater (frame dropper)
-Warframe
-Cyberpunk (even without support, has some drops)
-Dragons Dogma 2

Also, that image quality boost thing. I do think it's getting lost in translation and that is just the regular boost. I really doubt there is like:
- Boost Mode (similar to PS4 pro)
- Image Quality Boost (I think this is just false tbh, like some CNET type dude just created this name because they didn't really know how the boost mode is called and how it was present last gen)

If image quality boost is real... then the list gets a lot bigger.

Why is everyone worried about Astro Bot? They didn't confirm PS4 Pro support for Knack at launch until early November 2016.

Ahah I remember you from the other thread. This fucking Glitch made me quit the blood and wine expansion.

CD projekt have indeed announced that they moved on to other projects but they recently released a new patch for CP2077 on PC, so who knows. However, the community manager said 2 weeks ago that he was not aware of any Ps5 pro patch so I don't know if they're working on it. That would be such a shame if they didn't. Switching to PSSR can't require too much work so I'm still hopeful.
