List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

I'm not sure exactly what GG is doing here. Are they perhaps upscaling from a much higher base resolution using their in-house upsampling method?

Because the performance on the Pro in VRR mode is a bit worse than on the regular PS5. As I said above, it could be due to them upscaling from a higher resolution or it could be that the cost of their temporal upscaler is much higher. Whatever the case, it's not as impressive as I had imagined as I believed the cost would be similar to PSSR.

I am not seeing a problem in this game whatsoever. It's visually popping so much, I could walk into the screen and be a part of the game itself. That's how I felt when playing the last 2 days. It is unreal.

You talking about the RT issue with shimmering and flickering on trees which make it look worst in some planets or this video here?

Have you play this game on the ps5?
Yes that’s the biggest culprit but something about it seemed off. Textures popped in and seemed lower quality. Models looked poor. It was weird.

It looks great now on performance, I just started it today again after getting fed up with its performance at release. Luckily I didn’t pay full price but used their subscription service for a month.

Also, for people that don’t have Jedi Survivor, on PlayStation store, EA has a promotion for their basic service subscription for $.99 for one month. Subscribe then you cancel immediately so you don’t get billed next month and you get a month to play through Jedi Survivor for a buck. 😅
I’m talking about the PRO version. Honestly from what I’m seeing the base PS5 looks better in both modes

Does the BG3 demo/trial have the updates on it? Same for dragons dogma trial.

I tried BG3 but it didn’t seem the trial has any changes?

Crazy how very few, if any, one is talking about the OG Spiderman Remaster! It looks ridiculous on the Pro! Almost like a whole new game in Pro mode!
I actually played it this morning and thought holy hell. The reflections on the skyscrapers are awesome. Between this and the Horizon remaster, both of which are remasters of PS4 games look better than a lot of PS5 games. So many devs need to pull their socks up. They're lagging.

Yes they do. Tip for DD2, download the character creator demo so you can make a character and carry it over instantly and not waste time in the trial.

I'm still trying to figure out if it is placebo or not, but God of War Ragnarok Pro mode looks noticeably better than "quality" mode from a pure resolution and image standpoint. Certainly, the frame rate is better, but I did not expect PSSR to look appreciably better than normal quality mode. Does anyone else see that?

This is true across many games. PSSR is a game changer

Horizon Forbidden West is insane on the Pro, also, hands up, my console is not louder than my base PS5, I plugged the Base PS5 to get some games downloaded for my oldest daughter, previously i'd copied everything onto the M2 drive and just put that in my pro so had to get it ready for her, turns out I couldn't hear the fan because of the coil whine and the noise that does come from the fan was obviously so quiet compared to the PS4 Pro it replaced 4 years ago that i just accepted that as better than a hairdryer. Thankfully i have no coil whine on the pro, the fan is about the same on both, i'd say that qualifies as a silent console.

I'm loving it more each day.

Dragons dogma 2 runs great now. 50fps is in town yeah.

As for RE. You have some controller settings tips? I am used to playing re games on pc. The only thing I adjusted in RE4 remake is max acceleration
Use gyro/motion aiming in RE4. Takes a little getting used to but it’s better than sticks.
Gents, wtf is up with HDR in Resident Evil 2 Re ? Have my C2 calibrated, followed the in-game instructions and...everything looks horribly washed up !
Is it bad HDR implementation or am I missing something?

Other than that, it runs silky smooth on the Pro with RT on (minus some instances during cutscenes where there can be some.minor drops)
Check out GamingTech’s videos on the RE games for HDR settings.

Capcom kinda killed it with the pro enhanced. The RE engine really works well with PSSR.

Just watch some RE village footage. It looks really clean and sharp 4k like. PS5 version look good indoor, but outdoor it's kinda muddy. The checkerboarding was having hard time resolving the snow and grass.

DD2 also look extremely good. The graphics mode kinda comparable to 4k quality DLSS. Turn off RT in the graphic mode, it is kinda smooth with VRR. balanced is the best mode overall. I think even the performance mode which mostly butter smooth can play and look better than the graphics mode on the base console. Again, the image is really clean.

The ps5 pro has been a blessing for someone like me who has a 77 oled but found most games, older games mind you looked like shit upscaled. The enhance ps4 titles really really shines!

After some more testing, not every game seems to be a big difference. If anything DMC5 ps4 version and car cry 5 both look abit too soft with it engaged, so depending on what the game uses for their temporal usage the end result may be less sharp

Seen some saying that Jedi Survivor doesn't look great on Pro but I am here to tell you that holy shit it's one of the best showcases on the Pro, especially if you play at 30 fps. After the Pro update this game blows me away. The extra detail from PSSR, the lack of FSR artifacts, and the added Ray tracing make this feel like a true next gen game now on console ..yeah, you have to be OK with 30 fps to see what I'm talking about but this is the type of Pro patch I was hoping to see

Is 60 fps not as good?

Look amazing to me. As does TLOU1/2, and some 2nd party like FF7R and stellar blade
Haven't tried FF7R yet. Stellar Blade is a nice little jump but hardly gaming changing, not that impressed with TLOU 1/2.
So far the biggest jump I've seen is with F1 and Horizon Zero Dawn

I don't think Pro marks the jump we saw with Xbox One X or the PS4 Pro myself. Nice to have the extra storage mind and love how light and small the unit now is compared to the god awful launch model and Wi-Fi 7 is awesome.

So tested a few games around an hour each.

* Da Veilguard looks much sharper in both quality and performance mode. I absolutely hated the soft look it had on base ps5. With that artstyle it should be pushing pixels no problem. Will go with performance mode with vignette off for the rest of my playthrough.

* Alan Wake 2. Been playing the first set of dlcs and didnt bother with performance mode. Just give me that moody rt. Quality mode with film grain off looks ok to pretty good on the pro. Some dithering and noise here and there. Not the cleanest iq ever but thats Remedy games on consoles have always been this way.

*Life is Strange Double Exposure looks surprisingly sharper in performance mode. A lot less blurry than base ps5 and the motion capture animations now flows impressively smooth during cutscenes. Will definitely play the entire game on performance now.
So I think you're right, or maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me since I remember the image quality in performance mode on the base PS5 being more blurrier than here (the pictures were taken from my PS5 Pro; the first one is in performance mode, while the other one is in quality mode).

Is horizon1 update worth getting for graphics ? It probably still looks worse than forbidden west right ?
It looks almost as good as Forbidden West, but not quite as good. I’d say for a mere $10, it’s worth it. There are nice QOLs improvements as well, but the biggest change is with the redone cutscenes. Gone are those bizarre and off-putting NPCs just standing in place and staring into the void with lazy eyes. This alone makes the upgrade worth it.

It’s a better game than the sequel so I will probably get the upgrade maybe even today.

Yeah its better in performance mode compared to base. Been playing through remote play on the steamdeck oled and the signpost /posters and shit was actually legible now from a distance. Quality is superior still but the 60fps is hard to beat at a good enough iq.

Yup, I still have to do a second playthrough myself, and I'm saving that one for the upcoming holidays. I'll def play it perf mode now since the IQ is much more acceptable on the Pro compared to the base PS5.
