If you want to buy it just as a cool piece of tech, then it's totally up to your spending capacity. I actually had a backlog that is dramatically improved with the Pro. This is my current list with 2 of these being my "forever" games that I pick up and play at anytime:
- The Witcher 3 - Solid 4k 60 on pro
- TLOU2 - My wife plays this at least twice a year on grounded difficulty and I'm doing my first full playthrough now, where I'm not just a backseat gaming cheerleader
- GT7 - My forever game, until GT8
- God of War Ragnarok - Looks pristine on the pro with all quality mode settings making the cut to 60 fps
- Until Dawn Remake - Looks great on the pro after a horrible launch and a slew of patches
- Horizon Forbidden West + DLC - Was 50% done playing on Fidelity at 30 fps when I got the Pro and now it's better looking than fidelity at 60 fps.
- FF7 Rebirth - Haven't touched it yet. Was waiting to play it on the Pro and it got the the best possible upgrade I could imagine
- Spiderman 2 - Waited as I knew a pro would eventually come out and Insomniac would lead the pack in terms of upgrades
- Jedi Survivor - Will not play until they fix the PSSR implementation or remove it altogether
- Silent Hill 2 - Will not play until they fix the PSSR implementation for 30 fps or remove it altogether. But I may yield and play it as it seems like the perfect game for my wife during the holidays.
Completing this backlog with my limited hours (along with completing Sifu and Sekiro, which were already looking perfect on the PS5) will take me 1.5 years. Certainly worth the $420 upgrade for me (traded in at Gamestop). The most undersold part for me is that I could actually download all those games and still have space left!
If none of the above are on your list, nor some of the other solid updates, then may be wait till some new games release next year?
