Lizzo's "Juice" pulled from Rock Band due to making players sing the N-word

I was going to post more, but this legit just summed up my feelings in one post lol

I hope you are not serious here.
-=-=-

Couldnt they just replace it with Brotha?
Radio edits do this; and from most of my buddies that would be something they'd nod to. That or like homie, migo, something like that

To European it's so weird. It's in the movies, songs and black people in USA can say it. But when a white streamer says it by mistake it's a huge deal... Like when PewDiePie said it once. The word cannot be even more foreign to him.
Yeah, it's just a lot to do with the history; I lived with a black dude for a bit, and although it absolutely doesn't make me an expert on how he feels, there is an inherent difference on how most Americans treat black people and how that makes their community feel

I have a coworker at work who got onto me and my buddy for saying "Dog," to each other.
Well, yes, when used derogatorily it may offend people, but me saying "Dog the server's fucked up, help me with this," shouldn't be an issue lol
He quoted "It might offend African Americans."

Like, yeah, I would be really uncomfortable singing that word, so I see no problem with this decision.
I hear ya; depends on the crowd you're with. That sort of speech should be relegated to private company; weirdly enough that USUALLY goes with the sentimentality I've seen it used in.

You are not using it to express your thoughts, nor you are using it in a conversation, in this case. It's a song someone else wrote and you are singing along the lyrics. Doesn't mean you endorse them. I used to sing along a ton of Black Metal songs back in the day, doesn't mean i'm a satanist or want to drink your blood.
This is something I've seen to a degree and I've learned more depends on the person; some people are cool with it, some people aren't. It's just like anything else out there, just with a bit more weight attached to it.

I'm a pastey american italian fuck; sure, in a joke I wouldn't mind being called like a WOP but don't call me a Ginny or a Daego or you might get the bad end of my mouth

Then again, I have some family that if you talk any bad about our heritage, "thems' fightin' words"

Black people operate on a "hive mind"? I'm black and I hate the word.
That's the first I'm hearing of this and I lived with a black dude; if you guys have a hive mind why the fuck did he never mention that? Shit would've been fucking useful in a lot of shit we got into lmao

The thirst some white people have to being able to say/scream that word is hilarious.

I think all usage of the word is retarded, including black people using it. I have zero desire to ever say it, but what makes me laugh about this is the ridiculous overreach - songs that can be legally purchased and sung by anyone outside of the game, we have deemed the words ok to hear in songs (if sung by black people).

But in the game, in the privacy your own home, our cultural betters have deemed it unacceptable to sing even a sanitized version of the slur so horrific you only hear it hate screeds or rap songs.

In fairness, I don't think this has been the way for a long time. Much of gaming culture thrives on shared content which makes it a non-private thing. YouTube. Twitch. Mixr, etc.

It's one of the more curious things about the medium that isn't necessarily shared by other equivalents, like movies or books.

Basically, I can see why Harmonix would get twitchy arses about it. I don't think their decision can possibly please everyone.

if they feel so strongly about the word they should condemn the song and it's use of it.

I'm still trying to understand how it got through QA at all. I mean, if you can throw a parental advisory on it and be happy with it, okay. But if you thought it could be an issue, why even risk it? Lol. So odd.

If its sold in a store its for everyone. If you don't want a certain race singing it then your the racist. Maybe the artist shouldn't use those words or sell those songs then.

I can go to the store and buy a black belt, doesn't make me entitled to karate. Hip-hop isn't for you, you can listen to it though. Get over it.
