Bit shit that BBC made applications for iPhone and Android, but not for iPad.

There's not a lot of difference between the BBC mobile site on the iPad and the app for the iPhone to be honest.
Even the full BBC Sports website seems to be optimized for the iPad.

The torch is coming through the city Thursday morning, and our boss has agreed that we can all disappear for 1/2 hour or so to go see it. Woohoo!

I saw the torch when it came through my town.

It was a bit of a wasted afternoon. What was the point of all those commercial floats if they weren't lobbing Coke, Samsung phones, or Lloyds TSB mortgages into the crowd?

ITT we find that most of Gaf never went on holidays to Greek islands as teenagers. People fuck lots there but it's mostly average, drunken one on one sex while your roommate tries to sleep, not some roman orgy / porn shoot.

Tha Olympic athletes like the attention (they don't get it for another 4 years) so happily let the exaggeration continue.

To clarify: people fuck a lot but you are not missing out on the deleted scene from Caligula.

I am so, so excited! Got to see a bit of the Olympic venues back in March when I visited London. Took this from the store in John Lewis (bought a Team GB bag and a keychain or something like that while there):

The Summer Olympics are by far my favorite sporting event. The next few weeks will be utterly fantastic.

The opening ceremony had an open rehearsal tonight. A friend just came back from it and posted this on Facebook: "Wow! Just wonderful London The opening ceremony is going to be amazing. Do not miss it on Friday."

I am so bummed that my sullen faced secret love Guo Jingjing is not diving for China in this year's games. She always looked so sad, and yet her diving was so graceful.

Just came back from the Olympic park with the girlfriend. Really excited for this now.

Any orgy sightings?

http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/london2012/index.html should be added to the first post. It's the official streaming website of the European Broadcasting Union. They'll show streams of the individual events as well as streams of every member station. The site was pretty awesome during the 2008 Olympics (especially if you want to follow niche sports such as Archery).

And best of all it'll work across Europe.

My guess would be no.

If someone can confirm it would be great.

Correct. BBC streaming is UK only.

I think the BBC are doing 24 live streams including the usual BBC 1 'best bits' coverage. They are showing everything.

BBC 1 and BBC 3 are pretty much wall to wall Olympics coverage. Predominantly live stuff, but with highlights mixed in as the live events go on fairly late. BBC 3 is becoming a 24 hour channel for the duration (it's normally only starting from 7pm).

There's 24, live, HD streams of everything throughout the games - and you can also get those on Sky/Freesat/Virgin, but not Freeview. And they're available with connected TV and mobile apps (including PS3, possibly).

I'm sooo excited. The torch relay was so much fun, saw it both days and we had a huuuge overnight celebration in the city and it was absolutely fantastic.

And although this is the Olympics rather than the Paralympics thread, I feel this is a good chance while everyone's throwing love in for sports to big up Wheelchair Rugby, which is my new favourite sport since I saw it on the telly earlier this year.

(I said big up, I'm so hip)

I'm interested to see how well China will do, and if they can do it without raising any suspicion of cheating.

I do love the humility that the USA is so well known for. I remember being particularly taken aback by their attitude to others in these sorts of competitive events.

china fucked them last time on golds. not sure what the guy is on about.
