Its fun to play up the rivalries so I will be rooting for the Reigning Champion.

I'm envious of the Olympic village fuck fest and salty as fuck about the fact that I - an Englishman - had no hope at getting tickets to any of the events.

Time to watch the USA wipe the floor with everyone in Basketball.....and pretty much every other sport.

I do love the humility that the USA is so well known for. I remember being particularly taken aback by their attitude to others in these sorts of competitive events.

If this is as true as it supposedly is and not completely blown out of proportion, there would be, or will be, COUNTLESS photos and videos of that.

Yet I never saw any. So I think it's way overblown.

It should be worth mentioning that I saw some of the British Olympic athletes in my local supermarket last year (Loughborough University is the official preparation camp for Team GB), so I guess that makes me an Olympian by association. That makes up for not seeing any events.

Yeah, that's what I tell myself too...

:(

Until that guy from jamaica destroyed them....lol Hmmm....what was his name again?

How can there not be any tickets left?

Every single olympics i have watched recaps of (from 1988 to 2008) there have been tons of empty seats, during most of the "boring" non-final segments in the middle of the day.

Sometimes, there are like 3/4 of the arena empty.

Alot of asshats who don't bother showing up?

Aside from the football, there are about 10,000 tickets left which are very low quality seats for the middling rounds of some of the lesser known sports. So the vast majority of seats have been sold.

I would imagine that most of the empty seats you might see will be down to the sponsors not filling their allocation properly.

I hear loads of them were bought up by sponsors/soulless corporations. Which would annoy me more if I could have ever afforded good tickets.

Where can I read about this? O_o

There are plenty of stories about it. I can't think of one off the top of my head. For me it's those stories that inspire to get fit and not the actual athletics.

Yeah, I kinda like the sound of it. Not neccesarily that it will get me fit, but that people from all over the world are uniting. For the cause of gettin' it on! It's almost symbolical of the olympics as a whole.

Is that so? Seemed to blow away those other girls she was racing against, so I assumed she must've been pretty good.

She's still very young, maybe 2020. :D

that was a preliminary race. she got 6th place in the finals those are juniors btw. so she would have zero chance at the pro stage.

lol, usain let him win at the jamaican nationals, he says he's back in shape now and ready to win again.

He's gonna break his own records.

Lol, Usain did not let him win at Jamaican Nationals, did you even watch? Usain had to push hard to even catch Powell to get 2nd. Usain is scared, just like last year when he false started at Worlds. Bolt might have a chance at winning the 200 but in the 100, he has no chance at beating Blake, especially with the horrible start he has.

As for breaking records, I'll go on record saying he won't break 9.7 or 19.4, let alone beat his previous bests.

Where can I read about this? O_o
The Daily Mail had an article (yesterday I think?) written by a young female reporter about massive sex orgies happening in the Olympic Village, it was pulled a few minutes after being posted.

I don't really see any kind of conspiracy though, as the general public would probably have little or no interest in reading stuff like that.

Heh I think i heard somewhere that HUGE quantities of condoms where bought in, in preparation for this. Hilarious if true and time to become an olympic athlete.

I heard about those stories a long time ago, it isn't surprising when you put some of the most physically fit and attractive people within earshot of each other, all of whom are filled to the brim with testosterone and once they finish their events... a carefree attitude.

will it be possible to watch the olympics on the internet somehow?

if im not suscribed to cable

The BBC have live streaming coverage of every single event online. I imagine major broadcasters around the world will have similiar available options. Failing that, I'm sure there'll be people rehosting the BBC streams for international viewers, as there typically is for all major sporting events.

Those panel things looks way worse irl, so nice photography! :D And wow when was this taken? Apart from today the weather has been horrific while i've been in the village.

haha that panel design gave me horrific flashback nightmares of playing Paladin's Quest lol

It's overblown for sure. Don't be dumb. We would have seen a bunch of leaked cellphone orgy footage years ago, the media would be all over some athlete's sex scandals (and there would be attempts by other countries to expose others, etc.).

Also, massive sex orgies pretty much imply massive drug consumption. So if it's happening, athletes are also likely on drugs.

Daily Mail is tabloid.

what? sex orgies don't imply anything about drug consumption

are you from 1951? Is Reefer Madness your favorite film?

You might need a bit of a reality check.

They're already pumped full of natural testosterone and endorphins so they're as high and horny as they need to be.

If we keep on talking about it, the athletes - now or in the future - will end up believing in it and make it happen. Then we'll get our photos and videos.

Anyway, outside of their super fit bodies (which any of us could get if we cared enough to train every waking moment) most of them are pretty average looking. If she wasn't a Olympic swimmer then Rebecca Adlington (Team GB gold medal winner at Beijing 2008) would be the type of girl you'd see stuffing her face with a pie at Greggs (which is a bakery chain in the UK).

Orgy? Um...

Heh I think i heard somewhere that HUGE quantities of condoms where bought in, in preparation for this. Hilarious if true and time to become an olympic athlete.

it's 100,000 this year (which is about 10 per athlete). but i also saw an athlete say it's tradition that everyone takes a ton of condoms so the organizers have to order more no matter how many they make available, to keep the reputation alive and strong.

TEAM GB!

Can't wait. Got 2 weeks off work and tickets to 11 events - and i'm a guy who doesn't regularly watch any sport.

OP, you might want to add the BBC app to the list

You might need a bit of a reality check on this.

No, I don't. You're trying to suggest that somehow orgies are a behavior so aberrant that it must somehow imply illicit drug use. That's absurd. While certain drugs can certainly enhance sexual pleasure, there is no scientific link between orgies and illicit drug use. No more than there is the same sort of statistical slice of people who utilize drugs in real life, sans orgies. Sexual gratification is its own kind of drug, and is plenty enough motivation for people who want to participate in orgies. You're talking out of your ass.

Having had relatives that have participated in those sex parties with multiple people I can tell you that every one of them were off and didn't care about their safety, no condoms were ever used since it would have taken too much work.
