I think its fun seeing cars pull up beside a bike and a guy from it makes adjustments to the bike while it's running. I know they are part of the bikers team, but it looks like sabotage haha.

Flooded road awaits on the Women's Road Race course:

Fencing: Men's Sabre Individual, round of 16

Two Americans still in, which might be a first for this event!

Piste 1

Aron Szilagyi HUNGARY vs Zhong Man CHINA

on deck:

Max Hartung GERMANY vs Gu Bongil KOREA (Gu is my pick for the gold medal)

Piste 2

Nicolas Limbach GERMANY vs Benedikt Wagner GERMANY (Limbach is one of the favorites to win the tournament)

on deck:

Nikolay Kovalev RUSSIA vs Won Woo Young KOREA (any of the Korean team are crazy explosive, fast, and aggressive in this event)

Piste 3

Aldo Montano ITALY vs Diego Occhiuzzi ITALY (Montano is the 2004 Olympic Champion and one of the best known fencers in the world; bouts against teammates are always dicey, though.)

on deck:

Dmitri Lapkes BELARUS vs Tim Morehouse USA (both can be kinda scrappy; I gotta root for my teammate Tim, who had an amazing performance to get to this round)

Piste 4

Rares Dumitrescu ROMANIA vs Aliaksandr Buikevich BELARUS (should be an interesting bout -- the former is an extremely powerful, physical fencer and the latter almost exclusively relies on timing and guile)

on deck:

Daryl Homer USA vs Alexey Yakimenko RUSSIA (Daryl is probably the best American sabre fencer at the moment and performed strongly to get to this round; Yakimenko is a heavy favorite to win the tournament -- should be a tough fight)

What should I see from that link? None of the content on the right side is clickable from me so I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong. Been watching from eurovisionsports so far instead of that.

From the event list, only the ones in red are broadcast live- click those. Ones in blue are not

They already have it and the sponsors never gave the tickets away or haven't bothered to turn up themselves. If they don't turn up a certain time before the event then the tickets should be given away on a first come first served basis.

It's evident looking at the sports and the times, that these sponsors ticket recipients are just fat champagne drinking pricks who won't turn up

Just got an overhead view of the sailing and I have no idea where everyone is going. Boats all over the place.

Edit: Silly me, the race hasn't begun yet.

I'm finally listening to the opening ceremony soundtrack. <3 Underworld.

After this, Trainspotting and Sunshine, I'm going to be disappointed if Danny Boyle's next film isn't working with them again.

I didn't know until I read through the souvenir programme (which has what appears to be a full list of music if anyone needs to know a specific track) that the music director is actually Rick Smith! That explains the fact that the ceremony was Underworld-heavy more than just 'it was Danny Boyle'

Edit: As an aside, the opening ceremony programme has a design that was on the first batch of tickets, too, and, well, there was a massive spoiler there that no-one noticed:

Women's road race seems a little less organised than the men's. Not sure whether that's because of smaller teams, or they just don't ride together as much as the men.

I notice the women don't take as many 'natural breaks' as the men in the cycling, unless the broadcasters just don't show them running off behind the bushes!

What country are you from?

With a UK IP it tells me to go to http://www.olympic.org/content/broadcaster-home/ to watch live. The most popular choice is http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/s

With a US IP it tells you to go to www.nbcolympics.com

So you must be in some country where you can watch it live on youtube.com itself

I'm in US, tells me to go to nbcolympics.com, don't have a cable subscription though in one of our cost-cutting moves for the year... darnit. Thanks for the help.

The same design's on the booklet with the soundtrack, although that did only come out after the event. It's not really a spoiler when it's impossible to tell what it is without context, though.

Spoilers that are only spoilers when someone points out they are spoilers are the best type of spoilers. Spoilers.

Well, there's a way around that in this thread. But it's been used by people who have a NBC sub but would rather watch it on BBC.

I don't know what the mods would think about telling someone how to watch the BBC stream without a NBC sub, but, the posts in this thread are saved.
