They are deciding on the written appeal by the coach, and reviewing the times. I think it's unprecedented, so nothing to base their decision on.I understand that as long as she stays on the piste she is within her rights of not accepting the judges decision. Is there something else actively going on? Are they still reviewing the time?

Yes, which seems sensible thinking about it. They get the money refunded if its deemed genuine I believe.Anyone know what the money thing was for? Is it there to prevent spiteful/unnecessary review requests?
I hope you really are an athlete there. It would be awesome and worthy of a separate thread so all of OT Gaf will jump in to watch.
I'm assuming sponsors. So many swimmers using Beats headphones. Are they sponsors or are they just really popular among athletes?
My limited understanding is that they were in a sort of "overtime" and tied at 5-5. The German fencer had to score a point to win, due to some sort of random drawing before the "overtime". There was 1 second left on the clock, and they had a few stoppages due to them both hitting each other at the same time, but that 1 second never ticked away. At one point the clock hit 0, they added the one second back, and then the German fencer scored a point and won, with 1 second still remaining on the clock. Can someone sum up the fencing drama for me? Just tuned in now.
Oh come on, this is getting ridiculous. They're still reviewing it, the Koreans still haven't accepted the decision ? I'm sorry, I can't tell if she should've won, but at some point you're just a bad loser.

Probably anything to drown out the crowd noise. Nerves n'all. What do they even listen to?
