Let's hope it doesn't break again
Do we get special privileges as host nation? We get to restart entire races whenever something goes wrong. It's like a real life version of flashbacks in racing games.
It's a standard feature of many mechanical sports.
Anyone see the Spaniard's seat break in the track cycling before. That was scary.
(edit - he got to go again)
So, brits can restart but Luis Leon in the road race couldn't... someone explain this to me :/
The GB pair hit a bouy then the seat broke.
Think they'll get disqualified. Already some rowers from other teams saying that's a DQ anywhere else in the world.
All the other teamed rowed 300 meters and now everyone starts again
Just saying the rules. If equipment is not broken and they do that, they de-qualify.
Oh shut the fuck up. I'm getting really fucking irritated by this bullshit. If GB wins it it will be shameful.
French commentator saying that rule was dropped out last year... Well don't know who you can trust, but that is just silly...

According to the commentators...So, brits can restart but Luis Leon in the road race couldn't... someone explain this to me :/
That's a DQ anywhere else in the world, make of that what you will
Opinion is not fact. That's a DQ anywhere else in the world, make of that what you will
That was a road race which has different rules to track rules. Mechanicals in road racing are dealt with in real time. So, brits can restart but Luis Leon in the road race couldn't... someone explain this to me :/
I hope GB win this race even more after that.
GB seem fresher than the others - but who cares? This is the British games - come on my newly adopted homeland!

I had a higher opinion of english fair play than that. Being dodgy is one thing, being proud about it is another.
The others didn't exactly row that much further than anyone else. It's not as if they did 10 metres and the others did 1,000.
I love the eagerness by some people for GB to fail.
Our athletes are some of the most humble, respectful and sportsmanlike in the world, but people are so desperate to shit on them.
