COME ON SERENA!

Personally I don't care about either Shara or Serena but it's better if Russia lose every gold medal chance possible if GB are going to make 3rd.

Serena taking the piss though, keeping Shara waiting.

Anyone know what time Ennis needs in the 800m?

Is there a website that shows the a timeline of the day? Bbc (fuck off autocorrect NBC) sport website is good for individual sport, but I'd like a simple layout by time of everything, so I can more easily see clashes etc

It's slightly misleading. The days at the top are buttons, not meant to be used for cross-referencing. The times just below should be used to cross-reference times for the selected day.

Medals are serious business eh

Great to see Jess doing well at the Javelin and having a good lead going into the 800m, KJT is 14th now and according to BBC is on course to set a new junior record, good news for both of them :)

coming 3rd is serious business. It would be unreal for GB to come 3rd in a home olympics. Un. Real.

We know we can't get 1st or 2nd. China and the USA are superpowers, but if we snuck into 3rd place, that would be fucking unreal. An overall bronze at the olympics would be just incredible.

Ah, too bad USA vs. China face off will not happen in Womens fencing, its Korea vs. China instead, with Russia and USA fighting for the Bronze.

No, because it gives me no context of what events are in each sport, so eg I might not care if a qualy round clashes with a medal match. The list view is more what I'd like, but sorted by time (it's currently sorted by sport)

Edit: hold on, you can click the bars and they'll expand like a gantt chart with individual events broken down. Very nice

Huh? Click the timeline for a selected sport and it drops down the event, you can hover over and see exactly then what stage that event is.

If you click the little + buttons next to the sports it expands to show a schedule for each event in that sport, and hovering over a box tells you the time and round type.

Well, it rather depends on how the others do. 2:05 will give her 7000 points, which is at least a static (and awesome!) goal.

Using the predicted performances from that earlier website for everyone else, and a bit of napkin maths, would suggest that if everyone else equals their best recent performance, Ennis would need about 2:34 or better to win.

Amazing. The London 2012 website is great. Everything from database design to user interface and data representation is top notch.

Maybe not the ticketing section... even if it has been good for me.
