I haven't been following basketball since 1998/9, and I see individual players in the US team have incredible skills, but as a team they seem rather lackluster... Not impressed.

USA basketball is not interested in putting together an actual well balanced team, it's always a bunch of guys who are used to being the alpha and that doesn’t really work in basketball. Luckily they have the talent to overcome that most of the time.

I feel like its a mental thing. We know Maria is capable, she plays very well. It's just like... she CAN't play Serena. She sees her on the other side and PANIC MODE ON. If you watch games like the one in Roland Garros against Razzano, which Serena lost, you feel like she is clearly not unbeatable. But then again, Serena just HATES Sharapova from the bottom of her heart for that Winbledom final. She won't let it go. Ever.
