I think Murray might have picked Wimbledon over a gold but not any of the other slams. It clearly meant a lot to the players today. In the build up Mac and co were talking about how gold should be worth as much as a slam in terms of world ranking points and that its ridiculous that its only worth 700.
remember that time Murray didn't win? well, let me tell you how important it was...

John McEnroe was a great player, horrible announcer. He always references matches from when he played/how the game is different now/and why there should be a 5th set tiebreak.

A better troll on Murray would be to say that Fed and Djokovic weren't giving it their all and that they'd much rather win a Grand Slam, the most important tournaments in their sport. Something that Murray hasn't been able to do because he isn't good enough. The absence of Nadal also means that Murrays achievement should be marked with as asterisk because theres no way he would have beaten him.
A troll on Federer would be something like old man Fed is on the downward slope and his career will forever be tarnished because he couldn't win a gold medal.
