The false start rule is much better than charging the first one to the field and the next one to false start is out. Much simpler with one and done. The athletes don't have to reset so many times.

Hard to believe they qualified as 1st and 3rd, with the Italian being 2nd. Did one of them mess up?

Before the points from the qualification were carried, now for the final they reset everything (a way to fight China's domination). So there's no really need to be 100% during the qualification, you just need to make to the final.

I prefer the athletics qualification method. Makes each heat/semi-final more a competitive effort than a time trial.
