Whilst I think disqualification is the right decision, nevertheless it does highlight that something is fundamentally very wrong with the existing group format in the Olympics when you’ve got 4 top quality sides who were in contention for medals all out of the competition now. Weren’t the Chinese pair the top seeds? :lol:

In my opinion the governing body WBF has to take a large part of the blame for allowing things to get into this mess. It’s clearly a dysfunctional format when participants feel they’re being punished for winning and rewarded for losing.

No doubt some teams are greeting this news with glee and rubbing their hands in anticipation. I wonder if team GB is back in the mix now? Pity it wasn’t arranged it such a way that any of these 4 teams were playing us in the last match.
