Just had a horrible thought. What if the BBC doesn't use this tech for future events like the Winter Olympics? I know public interest will be lower, but they can't show us the promised land and then keep it from us...

They're host broadcasters aren't they? So they shoot everything and can make it available to us. If they're beaming everything globally to other broadcasters then whoever is doing the winter Olympics could do the same, but who knows?

I don't know... British swimming commentators are the worst for that.

You don't understand.

In the final of the four skulls thing the other night, all they were talking about is how because we were in lane 6, we'd be protected from the wind and as long as we were close with 500m left, we'd win. We were leading and completely faded to get beaten by the Saffers.

Then in this race, they talk like it's possible to make up half a boat length in 50m.

I'm not claiming she doped, but I'm a bit bewildered as to how quickly Ledecky beat her personal best, and by how much.

Another silver for Australia - we're officially changing our national colours from green and gold to green and silver.

You guys have no idea how annoying the Australian rowing commentators are.

If you look up the definition of 'false hope' in the dictionary, there would be a picture of those guys.

Not to mention the fact that they can't determine who's in front unless they're looking at the 500, 1000 or 1500 mark totally side on. They don't seem to realise what those lines of buoys are for.

COME ON TEAM GB

PUSH LADS!

Wtf? Was on 552 (bbc Olympic rowing channel) and it wasn't showing rowing, just the schedule - and the schedule didn't even say rowing was on today. Switch to bbc 1 just in case and I've missed the damn race. Boo BBC :(

They should out a little flash up in the corner of the screen on all Olympic channels when finals are coming up, so people can switch over,

We're up to third now!

I doubt they'd invest this much into the infrastructure and then not use it again.

Disgruntled fencer Shin A-ram is back in action today in team epee, where her team has made it into the semifinals. 1 hr 40 min from now vs the USA.

The referee double standards in this hockey match are pretty crazy.

I love how the Korean coach is wearing an orange cap, though. Good sportsmanship.

i just HATE how Track & Field competitions are broadcasted. Field events completely take the backseat for track events and its plain dumb. I want to watch the field events live and not have them showing me a taped attempted from minutes ago. Almost everything field related is shown in delay.

I don't want to watch a boring 10 minute run. Why are the focusing on the ENTIRE run EXCLUSIVELY. There are 2-3 field events going on and i want to see them LIVE. Why do i need to see runners being introduced when there's action going on in the field?

Every single Athletics competition is like that and i've never seen a good explanation to that. Cut the attention given to Track events or join up with the times and have two broadcasting teams - for track and field - and let the audience CHOOSE what to watch.

You can if you have cable and stream online with nbc.
