You're trying too hard again.
Telling the truth isn't trying too hard, bro. When Kubo consistently makes pages of garbage every week, it isn't something to joke about, it's valid critique here.

Just like how Togashi always fucks up with HxH with his garbage scribbles. It's just completely incompetent.

Go Ahead 1-14 (end)

Ive been on a bit of a sports kick lately, having re-read E21 and enjoying Haikyuu, so I decided to search out some more obscure stuff. On the surface, Go Ahead presents itself as a manga about middle school ice hockey, but it's really about the relationship between a young teacher and one of his students. It reminded me somewhat of Super Lovers, in that it was a non-sexual relationship between a young japanese adult, and a young student from Canada.

While there isn't much of it, the hockey action is exciting. Its rather violent, and there is a full explanation as to how its all totally ok to beat the shit out of your opponents. The only game shown is the classic trope of the "thrown together rookie team" going against the top dog in the country, and the manga gives a shockingly realistic goal- lets allow less than 100 goals, and lets get 1 goal. Too often in shounen, you end up with the massive underdog somehow making it close, or actually upsetting the heavy favorite, and even though hockey is the sport of miracles, they don't even hint at it.

Its a super short, enjoyable read if you like sports manga, so i'd recommend it to anyone who likes sports. Not sure what to tackle next though- water polo manga?

Sun-ken Rock 45-47

This manga is porn for my eyes.

Really well done. But again, I'm easy to please.

Anyway, the development is quite interesting. Tae-Soo is once again scheming his plan in the background and it kinda seems like Ken doesn't really know what he's getting into there. He's once again talking about building his state and everything, but despite gaining some influence and followers in Seoul, the jump to the USA is quite big. Yumin's appearance is quite the surprise. It seems likely that she's there to see the same man, though I wouldn't understand what she's gain from it, seeing how she's still on the run from her clan. Their meetup should be fun. The Italian is so going to join them, I can already see it.

Holy shit, the comedy panels in this are killing me.

This manga has not only some of the best looking panels, but also the funniest I've seen. It's really such a joy to read.

Ah yes, the Idol arc. I think it was Whippy who warned me about it, when I criticized the fan service in the earlier chapters. I prepared myself for some heavy fan service in the usual Sun-ken Rock style, but I did not expect that it turns straight into hentai. Wow.

I'll be surprised if they reach their 50s.

Sun-ken Rock 79

This arc was pretty good. I never followed this whole K-Pop and idol stuff, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's really that fucked up. It pretty crazy how influential they're becoming, even when the team itself doesn't grow by much. I loved the reaction of that KG guy, when he found out about Ken being the boss. It was excellent. And gosh, so many panels that scream "BADASS".

I really can't think of another manga that is as badass and funny at the same time.

Guys, I've never read a single page of food smut and yet it feels like I just did.

It's really excellent. He also does it sometimes, when doing references or paying a tribute to someone. I chuckled at the Marlon Brando/The Godfather panel.

Brah, your images are not working.

Amagasaki, nooooooo...! And here I thought they were going to play the "pair up or die" thing for laughs. Shit just got dark. Fuck Narumi btw.

In other news, new character. Misandrous giantess at that. This round of the game is going to be hilarious.

In Bura 9-10

This is getting dangerously close to TLRD in levels of super interestingness.

Waratte! Sotomura-san 19

New volume, more skirting the border between being humourous and being repetitive.

Food Smut is hard to dislike because it honestly makes no illusions about what kind of manga it is. In the same way Yamada has people frenching each other every chapter, Food Smut just shamelessly makes the food experiences into something lewd and dirty. It probably helps that the main character isn't nosebleeding over girls and being a failure in the social department, and that there are shounen battle elements to cushion the more shallow aspects with plot.

I read the entire WSJ magazine.
You're much more diligent than me. For a while I read Saiki, Gintama, and Sket Dance along with a handful of other titles from WSJ and the amount of WORDS WORDS WORDS drove me nuts since I'm still iffy with the language.

Check the first post for rules regarding spoilers.

So good. Sakuragi was amazing during the march even without playing. Dude's is hilarious, always bothering everybody :lol
Loved the interactions between Ryonan's coach and the guy who always take notes.

Haikyuu!! 50

Well with a novel announcement, I guess anime offers are hopefully being made or I guess a drama cd is next.

Anyway its not looking good for Hinata/Kageyama Kindaichi/Oikawa knowing the special words and that jump power makes it hard for me to see a karaasuno win... oikawas close up panel was amazing.

I'm not diligent, the language is my native.
It's not any different than you flipping through a comic magazine in English.
I do skip past Haikyuu, Kuroko, and Edison most of the time though.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"

Did Kubo's backgrounds cause the death of your family or something?

It's just like, his art style.

Acid Town 22

Feels like we really only get a new chapter every four months, though surprising still remembered the past chapter with Rei's backstory and this chapter filling in yet another gap. Wonder if Rei would have wanted to get with Ryuuji, but then the son Yukio showed up, so that crushed a few hopes. What was he indebted for? Really good chapter to get Rei to realize things.

His art style is what he actually draws (aka characters and action scenes). Kubo does pretty well in this regard, and has shown in the past and at certain times he can make actual settings that these characters are doing things in.

It's just a complete lack of competence to straight up draw the manga in a way where it literally has no backgrounds for chapters upon chapters at hand. It isn't a style, cause Kubo has drawn backgrounds in his style before. It's just laziness.

I caught up with Sun-ken Rock and I think there are only 2-4 chapters left before this arc is done. Ugh. This is awful. Terrible.

I think it's time for the next manga, but I'm not sure where to begin. My backlog scares me.

I mean, no it isn't. He just likes it that way. A lot of the background work in manga aren't directly drawn by the mangaka themselves anyways.

I still don't get why you randomly changed the subject to complaining about Bleach for no apparent reason. They were clearly talking about something else entirely.

We've got an entire smut list in the OP =V

Captain Tsubasa vol.1

And so it begins, the granddaddy of modern shonen sports mangas.
If you can handle the art, it's really good.
Pure shonen silliness, Tsubasa shooting a ball from a cliff, shooting under a bus, Taro Misaki shooting between a wall and a pole...
Roberto Hongo is a bro.
I'm hooked, and I don't really care about football.

Oh, tons of people love football yeah, I'm not a fan that's all. Like, I watch the World Cup but don't care about regular seasons and all that stuff.
I think rugby is more entertaining.

I prefer the rugby myself. Though Scotland's not done too well this year.

Fullmetal Alchemist vol.1

Finally reading this. Really liked this first volume, nice balance between humor and badass moments. I really dig the author's art, it's clean, you know what is going on...
The alchemy thing is interesting, can't wait to learn more about it.

It's magic.

Rage Town

Say what you will about Haruto but that dude is loyal as they come. It would take some serious willpower to walk away from a girl in that scenario. XD

It only happens to be one of the best shounen manga written in years.
Not a big deal.

..... what are you waiting for, go read the whole series in one sitting!

Tower of God

Mostly just a set up chapter. Now that the teams are set hopefully it moves on to the tourney or more info on FUG soon.

Haikyu 43-50

Now that they got the easy games out of the way we can finally see a challenge.

Waratte! Sotomura-san 19

Hopefully someday there'll be some progress.

xxxHOLiC Rei 01

So what is this. They say sequel but this doesn't feel like a sequel from how the first series ended. I guess unless they aren't considering that ending then or whatever.

Well whatever, still the same which I enjoy.
