I didn't even know shojou was a thing...
I did the exact same thing (even the pre-Twilight "vampires are cool thing").
Then I learnt it was Shoujo...
If I see the key words "Vampire" or "Dragon", I'm all over it and think of the consequences later.
I agree. When glasses girl's boyfriend died. I was wondering If I had missed all the characterization he apparently had with everyone. but realized it was all off screen so I wasn't really all that sad when he died.

What I read of Rosario + vampire, that second one preview chapter or two didnt seem like it was that bad of a series. Of course Ive not had time to actually read it from start to finish.
Man, that's a little bit awkward with your avatar, but yeah if I see "Vampire" in the title I instantly get defensive and guard for my vital areas

But this was years ago when I was naive and young, and I thought there'd be a few good Manga/Anime's with vampires in them.
