Mario should totally be part of the new big three.
It's a shame how "smooth" his art got over the years. Same goes for Kubo.
I think Kishi traces a lot these days, which would explain it. It just feels so lifeless, especially Mario. Something like that needs a rougher style.

Maybe I'm just a bit naive, but where would he get the material to trace from? It's not like with Sun-Ken Rock, where he can trace entire cities or porn actors.

I mean it was disjointed and a the art was a little too clean. But with Kishi having a little rest after Naruto and the support of the yakuza, it can be good. Rougher pencils would do wonders. Hope it goes to series.

Hunter x Hunter 2011 episodes 37-58 (Phantom troupe Arc).
Really, really good. Glad I went through it again. Even though it ties in to the previous arc (with the 4 main characters meeting at York New) as well as the next (Gon and Killua obtaining Greed Island), it was also really cool as a standalone arc, its own thing.
Kurapika is the "Sasuke" character done right (probably because the latter is a poorish emulation of the former).
Loved the troupe, I did not remember feeling so bad for Chrollo, and even Nobunaga, who realistically mourned Uvo's death. Or should I say murder.. the Kurapika fight was incredible. He had it all under control and although picking Uvo to beat first seemed like "main character recklessness" initially (Theyre protected by plot armour, of course they will be reckless) but Kurapika's explanations made total sense. Zetsu all up in this bitch.
His nen abilities were cool, as well as the abilities of the multitude of nen users in this arc.
On to GI next. I read about half of it in the manga already but the anime is really fun so I'm going to watch through to the current episodes. Chimera Ant started recently which I can't wait to get to.

Kurita, the Solanin movie is not good at all. Watching it is definitely a waste of time. They even butchered the song with the flashback, ugh.

Expect that to be the standard. That's just how HxH transitions, there's always a very clear reason why arcs happen when they happen (the only times where it doesn't apply really are Heavens Arena, and Yorkshin if Hisoka's message to Kurapika isn't concrete enough for you). It's really cool.

Sorry, but Kubo's art got smooth as baby diarrhea over time. I know people love to bitch about the "rat faces" earlier in the manga, but at least they had some character.

Thank you Viz for releasing the manga in an omnibus edition. Although I do hate the fact that we didn't get the original Japanese covers.

I found out that they released the first volume here this month. I have to wait for the second volume too, because I want to gift them a friend. She doesn't read manga at all, but I still think she needs to read it.

I'm actually laughing out loud at the people who are mad that Mario sucks, especially given all the stupid comments over the years that Naruto sucks because Kishimoto secretly wants to do Mario more and obviously its gonna be way better/super awesome.

Anyway it was just a really dull and boring stoy and just hard to get into to even care about the characters. Saori just failed to impress and was dull while the other character designs could have been a bit more enhanced and pleasing. The ending moments felt way too rushed and they just seemed to jump from place to place, one moment Saori is nowhere to be found and then all of a sudden they find her. (I guess he must have expanded upon it in the 130-160 version?) Then just a bad ending. I wonder how Kishimoto can put out Naruto which I find is an excellent story but then this, I am fervently hoping the Naruto ending will not fail to deliver, this story is like a huge warning flag.
I guess Im just not in the target audience. Oh and the guns, after seeing guns in other series (Jormungand, even the one in BLue Exorcist), they just looked really unpolished and lacking details here in Mario.

This "Death Game" of sorts is still interesting even if Kaname has only run so far. Still Banda the mascot is pretty scary to look at but that huge debt. He's not really smart though as why go after the police officer in the closed quarters instead of Kaname who was right in front of him, lol, especially if you can go invisible.

Better than Narutu but that's pretty much every manga ever made by human hands and computers.
Theme has potential but Kishi's storytelling flaws that lies in Naruto also lies in Mario. Too many twists and turns without a semblance of continuity and structure. And like Naruto, the entirety of it was pointless and not really worth reading.

♪ Ban's past was kinda predictable after they revealed Elaine a few chapters ago, but I liked this chapter. Aside from Elaine being a loli, it was cute. I enjoyed seeing the way Ban thinks and his reactions/replies to stuff. ♪
