I stumbled on this by pure chance but decided to give it a go anyway and that was not a bad decision at all. It may looks like a ordinary sports/football manga but a better description would be a short story collection with football as an overarching theme.
Each short story put the spotlight on one certain character, their life and relation with Andou, our MC. In the first chapter Andou, almost a high school student is faced with the life changing decision whether to continue playing football or to concentrate on studying in order to get into a good university. The love and enthusiasm he once had for football seems almost gone as well so the outcome seems quite obvious until a encounter with a weird girl occurs.
The others MCs are all pretty different but what they all have in common is that they are somehow related to Andou, there's Nina, the female manager of the high school football club where Andou is the captain or Masaomi, the reserved goalkeeper in Andou's first professional club. Some may love football just like Andou but some may not even have any relation to it, though they are all affected by him and his straightforward love for it, which help them moving forward and overcoming their own obstacles.
If you're looking for a sports manga which puts emphasis on drama, romance and slice-of-life rather than sports itself in the vein of, dare I say it, most of Adachi's manga, this could be a good match, do not expect it to be nearly as subtle though.

I like how the covers also have an overarching theme, the colors are also pretty nice.
