UQ Holder! 72

I know it was supposed to be a bad dream but let's set the record straight: Fate would totally smirk like a jerk he is regardless of dream or reality. he don't miss those opportunities, Akamatsu you fucking tease.

Touta having mad inner turmoil but it's to be expected considering last chapter's revelations...

How nice of crew to hold off unknown twat but at the same time, were they actually spared? they didn't even scratch her. We will see that one again soon I'm sure.

lol Kirie, the only thing you're accomplishing with your denials is checking them boxes in the doki doki checklist.

Kirie obviously not interested.

UQ Holder pisses me off because I legitimately think its a top tier shonen but its basically incomprehensible without reading all of Mahou Sensei Negima! which is not okay.

UQ Holder 72

For some reason this comes out as UK holder in my head. Anyway, Kirie kept on resetting like Lunatic Fire Emblem so that's how she dodged all those I guess. Kuromaru not totally useless this time around.

Wonder if what the sword wanted to say was different from what the dark guy wanted to say.

Kind of annoyed that hooded person bailed.

Wanted to see an epic duel. 3v1

I can't tell if sarcasm.

If Negima! was given a proper funeral, I would have agreed with you. Negima! was ended prematurely. UQ Holder! is basically Negima! part 2:battle tendency. I do not mind as one should absolutely read Negima! anyways. S rank series imo.

I just think Ken has good skills at action art and action storytelling but its all hampered by being enslaved to knowing whatever happened in Negima and who every random character is.

I need to finish Negima. I took too long of a break, so I think I'm going to start from the beginning again.

Curious, but how fan-servicey were the later parts of Negima and UQ Holder? I don't care if it's in or not, but I'm just wondering if he concentrated on full shounen battle stuff. Just wondering if it fully transitioned that way or if the editors/publisher wanted to keep him going with that stuff.

Its all fanservice (well, okay, the second half is about half as fanservicey as the first half). But honestly, I liked all of it, fanservice or not...

It's like the author knew that people thought he'd reverse the development in some retarded way, and he felt like punching those people

Well like I said, had Negima! been given proper ending, you wouldn't have the complaints that you're having here. Akamatsu I would like to think... Has it like this because he knows how many were left very bitter to Negima's premature end.

different strokes i guess because while you complain of it, i actually enjoy it.

I would say that Akamatsu struck the perfect balance later on. fan service is still there but gets toned down as Shit gets real though there were some comedic moments. but wheb shit gets real, it gets fucking real. why u think Fate is so HYPE? I would argue for example that the school festival arc is textbook perfect shounen.

You read/watch gintama? see how Sorachi has gintama transition from comedy to serious action or both to perfection? Negima pretty much is like that and I would be bold to say Sorachi must have read Negima because of all the series I have read... only Him and Akamatsu can transition from funny/ecchi/fanservice to serious and back or fused to perfection that I'm aware of. Prison school's Akira is close too but not in the same level as Ken and Sorachi on transitioning the fanservice to serious and thats mostly because Akira dont commit the whole way.

What a brilliant take on the 'kids piloting giant robots' genre. Properly dark and thoughtful with a horrific ending. I'll definitely check out more of the author's work.

Bring tissues if you're going to read Narutaru. (The anime stops about half way through the story. And the anime isn't as intense as the manga anyway.)

I binge-read Narutaru over the course of a few days. I was actually down after I finished it.

what the fuck...?

The director came out and said this on a blog before the anime aired:

Hiroyuki Morita, who directed the anime, wrote in his blog that he dislikes the original story and has, in some ways, been making changes to the plot for that reason. He also wrote that, at one point early in the development of the show, he asked manga author Mohiro Kitoh if he could find some way to save the main characters — the kids who must pilot Zearth. He wrote that Kitoh responded that his choice was fine as long as the changes did not involve "magical solutions" to the story. Morita closed out the blog entry with the statement "The director of the animated version of Bokurano dislikes the original manga. From here on out, you can't expect the animated version to expand on what you might find appealing in the original. So, fans of the original, please do not watch the animated version from now on"

Fun fact Jun's battle was on their earth in the anime, so that scene/battle of his from the manga is gone along with other major things changed.

What was the end in the anime?

I thought the manga end was fine.
It's a story that needed them dying, it's all directed toward that. If you save them, you are missing the basic premise of the story.

The pigeons were great, the development at the end is probably obvoius
Akane's probably going to make Aizawa a giant, or make her breasts massive or something.

Tokyo Ghoul RE 20

Why in the name of God would Touka&company
leave quinques made out of Hinami's parents next to Mado's body instead of taking and burying them somewhere. You dun goofed.

Really hoping we will get Ken/Hinami reunion. Forget about
your father's spine !

Not really a fan of the
proliferation of ghoul hybrids so I hope Seidou
will kick the bucket soon. He was always a waste of space anyway.

It's pretty much my first time following a weekly manga and good lord, the weekly wait for the scraps of new material is excruciating.

I kind of wish the chapters were longer. I'm burning through this series a lot faster than I intended. I suppose that's only a testament to how much I'm enjoying myself though, and selfish thoughts aside, I doubt this series would work quite as well if it weren't so brisk. I'm enjoying the demons for the most part, but I have to say watching Elena take them down a few pegs and a couple horns was much more satisfying. Her and her relationship with Taizou have really been one of the key things that have kept me so invested. To me, their romance is the heart of the series, this unquestionably pure and unquestionable thing that grounds everything around it. It's certainly my favourite plotline among the many in the series.

Speaking of plot-lines, I have to say, I was really bummed by the fate of the assassin sisters. Some of my favourite characters (even if they weren't particularly major) and they just ran into some bad luck. :(

Shokugeki no Soma 109

A fine enough wrap-up chapter, I suppose, but I'm kind of glad we're finally done with this. Erina wasn't terrible this chapter either, so that was interesting! I'm very lukewarm on Shinomiya returning, though. Not to say I ever particularly disliked him, but like... man, they need to bring back Hinako.

Obviously because we have a ton of anime studio execs here.

Seriously why are so many smutty series getting anime adaptions?
So y'all can watch how they butcher the adaptation of each smutty series and break hopes + dreams.

Will basically be the andreinomics crash 101 each new adaptation waiting to happen. prepare yourselves.
Mangagaf seems to me to be mostly M's here
