Mizutama Honey Boy 01

Super tomboyish girl gets confessed by a super girly boy. She rejects him but he won't give up.

Not super original, but it does seem a like a pretty nice love story building here. Nice to see the guy not give up and they do seem to complement each other. Lots of princess carrying too.

Oh god, I'm getting Kubo flashbacks from these guys showing up for some reason.

Tadokoro still the best though. It's like I'm back in Tohoku when I read the manga.

Out of the Elite 10 guys he's fought so far he's 0-492.

iirc he has only fought one though and got a tie (which is revealed to the reader as being a "i held back my true strength" moment on behalf of the challenger).

Unless you are still counting his dad as the former number 2 lol

We'll see how he fares( especially given this new generation supposed to be broken as fuck) and hopefully more Tadokoro appearances/leveling up

Yuricam 11-17 (or whic is last traslated chapter...)
It got better. Club arc feels more interesting than previous school adventures. Waiting for a chapter when Yurika will finally seduce man, who will end up a woman in a man's clothes. She should just accept yuri)

Read some Adachi they said...
Some time ago I already tried reading H2 - didn't managed to read a lot due to not enjoying baseball part of it (I'm usualy not a fan of sports manga with exeption of Baby Steps). That's why this time I choose
Miyuki 1-7
Dat oldschool feeling - so enjoyable. Reminds me about times when I read Ranma. I really like the tempo here - switching between scenes feels somehow different than usuall, jokes have some nostalgic kind of flavor and boys act much more boyish than in most of modern manga. Good stuff.

Lots of TMI you would never expect to get asked in a series.

Pretty great.

I just realized why I like the heroine in this one. She's one part Naze Youka/Nienami, one part Shiranui from Medaka Box and it's awesome. :lol

So I already asked for updated top 10s recently, but I was thinking about this lately, too.
What do you think are the most important manga to read? It could be most influential, classic, whatever. Which series do you believe to be must-reads. I imagine that this may have overlap with your favorites, but it might not—I'm curious.

Bonus: Who are the most important mangaka?

Monster
Dragon Ball
Slam Dunk
Mushishi (I prefer the anime to be honest but it still a classic nonetheless)
Yu Yu Hakusho
Parasyte
Prison School
Fullmetal Alchemist
The list that I can think off so far.

Bonus: Who are the most important mangaka?

I'll just name the mangaka since most of their works would also be the most influential.

Osamu Tezuka (Black Jack, Astro Boy)
Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball)
Go Nagai (Devilman)
Leiji Matsumoto (Space Battleship Yamato)
Rumiko Takahashi (Urusei Yatsura, InuYasha)
Takehiko Inoue (Slam Dunk, Vagabond)
Hirohiko Araki (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
Nobuyuki Fukumoto (Kaiji, Akagi)
Buronson and Tetsuo Hara (Fist of the North Star)
Naoki Urasawa (Monster, 20th Century Boys)
Hiromu Arakawa (Full Metal Alchemist, Silver Spoon)
CLAMP, a Group and not one person but they have still had a ton of massive hits like Cardcaptor Sakura

That's a start. Tezuka, Nagai, Matsumoto and Toriyama are the big ones though. This is also a list of more popular mangaka, there are less popular but still influential ones. Also some are mostly tied to one work that I didn't really list outside of Araki and Tetsuo Hara

Pretty much, best version of the Haruhi universe.

And if I recall right, isn't this one's universe based on (LN spoilers)
When Yuki got sick of Haruhi's shit and hacked her powers to make an alternate universe or something like that?
If I remember that right it makes it even funnier that this world is better.

Cat eyed girl actually has yellow eyes.

This is even better than I could've hoped for.

That confirms it. She's the best out of the E10.

Hi, everyone! long time lurker :) hope I'm doing this right.

Welcome! I hope you'll enjoy your stay here~
Have you read our Lord and Saviour, Prison School?

Dunno. Maybe a new character?

so I spent all day reading Prison School.

Domestic na Kanojo 1-49

So I just marathoned this series today. With all of the step-sibling fraternization, teacher-student schmoozing and non-stop miscommunication this feels like a slightly more racy version of Marmalade Boy with a shonen slant. We've even got the dopey, happy-go-lucky American exchange student now.

Jintor, I'm disappoint
But it's okay, art needs the right time and moment to be experienced to the fullest.

i usually only have a reading slot for one or two overly lewd series. nana to kaoru is a mainstay until it wraps but I've been experimenting with a few others on and off. of course reading time is at a premium these days so not getting much reading in in any case.

i actually still haven't read prison school. i've been waiting for the right moment

Every moment is the right moment to start Prison School.

Domestic Na Kanojo 49

Catched up, Alex finally became MC and is making out with the boys. All is well.
Thinking back, this is one unlikeable harem. Book girl is the only nice one, and she pretty much got shafted halfway through (along with Momo) to focus on the domestic love life.

Fairy Tail 435-436

Another double chapter. Jeez, Mashima.

Say whatever the hell you want about his quality of writing, but his work ethic is insane. So many double-chapters releases annually, and he does so with barely a scant of breaks.

A ton of (SFW) Touhou doujins
There are few better ways to spend an afternoon than with a glass of port, a box of fine Cuban cigars and a constant stream of Touhou doujins. Sadly I only had the doujins, but it was still one of the most enjoyable reading sessions I’ve had for a while.

I was absolutely disgusted [overjoyed] to read possibly the first translated Seija stories I’ve come across since DDC’s release. She’s a loathsome [loveable] character with an insufferable [endearing] personality and tasteless [discerning] fashion sense. Exposure to her is a worthless [effective] reminder that I need to play Impossible Spell Card after I’m dead [in the near future].

Also checked out some of the Fantasy Engineering Works doujins that Zweizer recommended last time around. Have to agree, their vision of Gensokyo is inspired, with the highlight being an unusually touching story about trains.

Towards the end I came across the Blue Book line (by Yohane) and read basically all of them, which was odd because their subject matter and occasionally wonky characterisation wasn’t really my cup of tea. Might’ve been the art. Or the fact that they actually did a decent Hina story, which is a real rarity.

I don’t think I can stomach much more MariAri, despite the puppeteer being one of my favourite characters. Though they starred in a Scarlet tailor tale that was a worthwhile read.

Is Yugi gonna be number 1.
IIRC the chapter implied who was the top half of the E10 and who was the bottom half. Yugi’s in the bottom half.

Seija is such a boring character. I hope there won't be any more stories starring her in the future~

Glad to hear that you enjoyed FEW's doujinshi. They carry that nostalgic feeling with the way their universe is crafted that I absolutely adore~
