Mario Kart Switch: all Wii U + new tracks, characters, battle mode, < 3 mos fr launch

What they should give us is lap options. Rainbow Road 64 on 200CC needs at least two laps.

After all, people like to bring up the Double Dash comparison with that double item feature we've seen, so bring back the lap option from that game too!

They never should have gotten rid of Double Dash's Battle Mode variety. That, plus a mix of Double Dash and Wii's arena design would be perfect.

For offline play? sure.
Online tho? that shit has to be random lol
Not necessarily. When you vote for the track, you can also vote for the preferred time of day by holding the right button.

Actually, if it's just superficial appearances, would it really matter if it displayed one time of day for you, and another time of day for the others?

Not like it affects the gameplay.

Some nice features I'd like to see:

- Lap toggle: This would be great for, say, two-lap races on N64 Rainbow Road (the real sweet spot)

- Vehicle profiles: Let my friends and I save our preferred vehicle combos for easy access

- Item toggle: Let me adjust item frequency on an item-by-item basis, even turning certain items off

- More camera angles in MKTV: At each turn in a track, let me choose from multiple camera angles

All this news is awesome... Except fucking Zelda. :( That's by far the game I want the most, and while I'll love Mario and finally get to try Splatoon, I'm really bummed about the added wait for Zelda. Whatever it takes to get the game as polished as possible is good, though, I guess.

I never bought MK8 because I have no one to play it with locally but this brings to mind how I really wish it were otherwise. Idk. Couldn't even get people into Smash 4 when Melee and Brawl had been a lot of fun.

Dream I guess is to one day have wife and kids that'd play with me lol :p.

Those sound like great features. Seriously, MK and Splatoon need to have a way to save load outs.

I imagine it won't be too painful once 3D Mario has a proper trailer.

I know this thread's about MK8 Switch but I like that Splatoon is getting packed in with the Switch. Gonna be a good time to get back into it.

Regarding MKTV. I would hope they do it right this time and let you control the camera completely as well as splice videos together. Kinda like Skates video editor so you can create your own awesome highlight reals.

I'm talking high video length, as many snippets of races as you want, slow mo, speed up, filters, dof options, camera angles and moving/static camera placing.

Not having Zelda as a day ONE launch title is a huge miss. "Several months after launch" is a long time wait for a system selling game for people who are wanting to be an early adopter. I guess the holiday 2017 sales of Zelda are projected to do better than when the system launches? i dont get it.

Not even close, honestly. My interest in another 3D Mario, while high, is a mere fraction of my interest in the first ever open world 3D Zelda.

But oh well. I can wait. I think Splatoon will be the main game to hold me over. I love competitive shooters and sold my Wii U before it came out, so I'm pretty excited to try it out.

All I ask for is Bowser Jr. and Diddy Kong!!

So through DLC we saw Link, Villager, and Isabel added to the roster. What other Nintendo characters do you think will be in this game at launch?

Think we will see Pikachu?

Captain Falcon, Kirby and
Mach Rider
and Sonic

Edit:

with Pac-Man as well

Bruh this wasn't their choice. They have some QA or localization things going on that's forcing it to release after launch.

Splatoon character!

Let make 2017 as Year of Splatoon/Inkling. Put them in Kart, Smash, etc!

Did MK8 have 12-player Online Battles? I never touched the mode, so I'm not sure. I'd love to see them create some big maps just for that. Maybe even bring back and rework some older ones; Double Deck would be great for this.

Meh. I'll buy a new Mario Kart when they do something interesting with the formula again. I wasn't into MK 8 at all.

Another Double Dash. Or for my brain to not find the game stupidly boring because it feels like I've already played the same game to death over the years.

A gimmick that basically made everyone stick to Koopa Troopa and the Toads was a more interesting gimmick than one that lead to interesting course design?

>battle mode

Ugh, I should be happy about this, but as a WiiU owner who desperately wanted proper battle mode in MK8, i'm actually kinda pissed.

EDIT: Proper battle mode means an arena and balloons.

As a Smash-GAF vet who was pored over every frame of every newcomer trailer one billion times, it feels weird to see someone who hasn't seen the Rosalina trailer

Switch's launch is shaping up to be memorable. Zelda, Mario and Mario Kart? Fucking sold.

Within 3 months of launch...

We still have no idea about Zelda. Also, seeing a lot of Wii U ports fleshing out the year is not exactly "memorble," these are games many of us already have.

For that matter, I'm guessing this is a $60 release? So after paying $60 + $12 for DLC I gotta pay full price again?

After I buy a new system, of course. They could sell this as a Wii U DLC upgrade, I'm certain. I understand why they wouldn't, and all the new content sounds great, but I can't get excited about it.

Make this the packin. A primarily mp shooter makes no sense for portable.

1) It's not a portable and Nintendo has been pushing it as a home console first and foremost.

2) A primarily MP shooter would be great for a portable

3) Mario Kart Switch is going to sell like gangbusters, much better than Splatoon would

4) Thus, making Splatoon the pack in is actually really good for Splatoon's MP community and legs

Eh... it's already been like 3 years. Might as well keep waiting. At least we now know how well the game plays.
