And what would you do with a Punisher series?

I have two versions of an idea. If I could make a series that it is out of the MCU, it'd be a dark, deranged trip through the mind of a man who has declared a mad war on crime. If it is in the MCU, I'd do a series closer to Edmondson and Rucka's runs in tone.

I've actually been working in my head on a Punisher show idea since I was fifteen. Six seasons, full character arcs, villains, locations, pretty much everything, dialogue, but it's all divorced from the MCU.

Edmondson's run is TV-ready. It slots in nicely and it's good for a more heroic, Justified-esque take on Frank.. Rucka's run also fits in really well if you want a darker, more conflicted take on the character for the MCU.

I want Cliff Martinez to do the soundtrack for Punisher series. Appropriately sparse and apocalyptic.

The darker tone comments match a hint made in July at Comic-Con International: San Diego by Marvel Executive Editorial Director for Digital Media Group and Marvel.com Ryan “Agent M” Penagos. At the convention, Penagos told fans that Frank Miller’s seminal (and decidedly dark, gritty) run on Daredevil “might be something to read in the next year or so if you want hints about something else we are doing.”

While I love Waid's run, it is somewhat dependent on these characters being established for some time and having a long history together. If you're going to start from "the beginning," Miller's run is a great choice.

Another vote for Durand, even if we are just fan casting. I've been a huge fan of him since he played Keamy in Lost.

Fairly competent actor, built like a brick shithouse and could stare a black bear into submission.

He also played one of the most hilarious characters in the mediocre yet incredibly funny Smokin' Aces.

I just want to see him doing something with more substance than his character in The Strain. He's also probably cheap and in the right age bracket.
