How hard can it be to cast a young pretty asian boy who talks smack but has a heart of gold? It doesn't have to be a known actor or anyone famous, and it would be a good break for whoever gets the role. Probably really easy to find stunt doubles too, which the role will require.

You had a typo, I took care of it for you.

They probably won't be casting Iron Fist until the Luke Cage series, so maybe by the end of this year? Long way to go.

Fuck stunt doubles, man.

Keanu in John Wick spoiled me. Stephen Amell in Arrow is fucking killer. Find someone who is actually willing to do the shit.

Scott Adkins obviously.

would be perfect for a tv-series, can do amazing stunts and is still probably quite cheap to cast! He is a modern american ninja :D

Scott Adkins would make a lot of sense age wise. Can he lose that accent though?

Edit: I guess so after seeing the NINJA II: Shadow Of A Tear trailer?

Yes. Adkins does different accents pretty well. American in Ninja 2, Russian in Undisputed 2-3. A rare case of martial artist who can truly act. Add the fact that he has prettyboy face and he's simply perfect for Iron Fist

Adkins would look awful as a blond.

Furthermore, Iron Fist will look like shit without a director who understands how to film kickass action films. Barring Cap 2, most close quarters scenes in the MCU have been throughly meh.

I don't know how many seasons of Banshee are left, but after the latest episode I would be totally ok with Banshee's showrunners working on Iron Fist. Their love for pulp could also work wonders for a show like Jessica Jones.

Banshee is aimed at 5 seasons, so that most likely won't work.
I think it would be best to get some B-movie/asian director solely for the action scenes (maybe give him one full episode so he doesn't feel cheapned out), There's awful lot of high quality talent directing DTV vids these days.

He's 38 though. I'd think Joey Ansah or Nick Bateman are better options.

Isn't Joey Ansah black? Or am I thinking about somebody else?
Anyway, Adkins looks younger than his age, so that would't be a problem. Especially when constrased with fast balding Murdock :D

yeah even though he is near 40 he can still pull of that young Ben Affleck -look.

Blonde or no blonde, doesn't really make or break the character for me.

Yeah, he's black. I don't think that makes a lot of difference to Iron Fist's character.
As for the age; Adkins looks well in his thirties, I always thought Iron Fist was a protegé of Luke Cage. I'm not an apt reader of the streetlevel-hero comics, so I could be mistaken?

Iron Fist is in his early 30's. This is actually brought in an important arc.

If they do an origin story, he'll be in his 20s. Matt Murdock is definitely going to be way younger in this universe than he normally is in the comics, so it doesn't have to match up.

Is he? Cox is 31 and I never pictured Murdock as being older than his early thirties.

They should get the Mortal Kombat guy (I have no idea how to spell his last name). It would make sense since he has a relationship with Marvel already and definitely knows how to direct a fight scene.

I don't really see how he can be in his early thirties. I mean yeah there's an issue with Marvel Time and all that, where they kinda brush off the transition of the real world with the actual aging of characters, but even within the Daredevil mythos itself, it's clear that he's one of the characters who has been around for a -long- time.

Both Matt Murdock and Daredevil have evolved so much over the decades that it is clear even in the universe, it's accepted that he's been around for decades. I'll say Spider-man is a pretty good analogue too. He went from a student to a working adult to a married working adult. In the same sense Daredevil has clearly aged a lot.

One particular marker we can use for this is Bendis' Golden Age storyline. I think that makes it clear that even the narrative treats the period from the pre-Kingpin era to the current era as a really long fucking time. If Matt was in his mid-20s at the start, he has to be at least in his early 40s now.

Is Alain Moussi just trying to drum up fan support, or is he really in consideration for the role? :p

I'm pretty sure the Luke Cage is the 4th series planned to air, not the 3rd.
At least according to previous Marvel statements and order of announcement.

The announcement did list Iron Fist as fourth in the order. And since Cage has already been cast, it's probably safe to assume his show will follow Jessica Jones.

from the Press Release
Led by a series focused on “Daredevil,” followed by “Jessica Jones,” “Iron Fist” and “Luke Cage,” the epic will unfold over multiple years of original programming, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and a culminating Marvel’s “The Defenders” mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.

i believe there was also another, much later, announcement from Marvel that confirms the order of release as well.

Here's the official description of Trish Walker: "After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City. Trish is a syndicated radio talk show host, former model and child TV star known to her adoring fans as "Patsy" Walker. As Jessica Jones’ closest friend, Trish helps her embark on the most dangerous case of Jessica's career. The character of Patricia Walker has roots dating back to 1944 with her first appearance in 'Miss America Magazine' #2, and in the comics Walker donned the super hero identity of Hellcat in 1976."
