I don't know why they stream that. There's all sorts of other stuff going on. I'd rather see Melty Blood or something than Street Fighter II.

I kid, I kid, OG players.

Or do I?

She does do a lot of damage, but she'll literally die from one simple combo. I see it more of a second character when they build 5 meters, call her in, do as much damage as possible and tag her out once dark phoenix comes out.

400K health FTL. A BnB combos + lvl1 hyper can do that much damage, so yea I believe using phoenix is only for more advanced players (meaning i'll stay away for now haha)

dark phoenix has the same amount of health, but she's just a lot more dangerous and more difficult to rushdown on

Yeah, but getting dark phoenix means you had 5 meters. Using her as point, getting hit then dying means you don't even get a 2nd character.

I just watched a rush down phoenix on the Final Round stream. She builds meter as a point character super fast. Once people learn how to play with phoenix(not just keep away all day), she's going to be an even greater force to reckon with.
Of course, I'm just talking about knocking down online fools.

Haha. I have nothing against Super Turbo, I just think that, stream-wise, there are some more exciting things we could be watching.

Wow xfactor 3 shuma is broken as fuck. *whistles* like Felicia
Did you use him?! I'm going to harass you for information now, I am so desperate and starved for Shuma info. It's mind-destroying that he's out in 4 days and we still haven't seen all of his moves or any of his assists in action.

No I took the time to do the math with frame data and stuff and other things
My heart! It is crushed. Assuming the strategy guide info stays true, Shuma gets frame advantage off of more moves than anyone else in the game. It's pretty wild.

It's stupid cause he get's such a huge speed boost on top of that in xfactor, and he's about on par with felicia with frame advantage stuff

I'm slowly reading through characters I don't use, and I was surprised to see how high Iron Man's level 3 X-Factor damage boost is.

I kinda don't want to touch Shuma because God's Beard likes Him/(her?), but I'm still soul searching in MVC3 and I don't want to not try her/him.
True love conquers all! I would be enjoying myself so much more in this game if I dropped Dormammu, just because I spend so much time figuring out his perfect setup. Nothing can stop my dream though.
Except for Capcom.

GT-C

It's made for TE's as well. No corners feels great.

Anyone else think the Shuma model looks relatively dark compared to the rest of the cast and is just weird altogether? The clipping and stuff when he crosses his tentacles is straight odd for a character with such good animation.

It's because our dimension can not handle his greatness :D

Mystic Ray H looks amazing :)

By the way, tested out Dante's ice assist with focus attack, only gets it in the corner. Trish's peekaboo only only works with focus on characters shorter than Doom.

C.Viper has so many tricks it's disgusting. I've figured out a few gimmicks that I haven't even seen Desk use in any of his videos. I have about 8 mixups when I'm close in, but I need to work on my jump cancels for the mid screen pressure. C.Viper is the best character if you can do her cancels :)

I'll give you guys this, but this is my last hint before everything else is my secret:

The key to C.Viper pressure-
Seismo, Jump Cancel, Thunder Knuckle, S Cancel(last possible frames), Seismo

You constantly deal chip damage, if you hit you can jump cancel into another seismo for a fullscreen combo, thunder knuckle cancel moves you forward against push block AND beats most normal projectiles, you can also destroy larger projectiles with L Seismo jc M Thunder knuckle cancels. With good assist coverage(Shuma Mystic Ray :-D), C.Viper becomes a dominant keepaway character as well as a dominant pressure character that constantly, unrelentingly pushes you into the corner with unpunishable movement.

If you can do it :p

Because you're not suppose to j.M. Go straight into j.H->S and do it as early in the super jump possible.
Yep just re watched some vids again and saw they were only doing j.H. Thanks, now time to dominate with dat Shulkie

13-30 now. 9th Ranger. Get at me.

I'm actually getting better but my Iron Man has trouble with rushdown characters. Every normal pushes them away enough to get me during my move recover. Just how Iron Man is :(

If I have Iron Man with Unibeam, and Zero with the shoryuken, what should I be using as my Super Skrull assist? Orbital Grudge or Stone Smite? Was using Tenderizer until a fellow GAFer told me I didn't need two AA assists.

You could try making Zero or Skrull a combo-extender. If you use Zero's Shippuga assist (his forward+H move), with Iron Man you could probably do ground series > air series > smart bomb > shippuga > launcher/ground series/whatever you want > proton cannon.

I think Skrull has an assist to do this as well, and it might stay out longer/have more range than Zero's, but I could be wrong.. It also depends if it's worth it for your Iron Man. I know a lot of Iron Man's don't really do big combos.

Oh and Tokido is rocking this shirt at Final Round: http://www.thetravelingcircus.net/tokido-murderface.html pretty awesome. Especially the off center symbol.

Played ranked last night just to get that stupid combat specialist achievement. Kept getting hopelesslly overmatched and beaten down. Very disheartening. Finally faced someone with the top ranked status and got it after one win and countless losses. Phew. No more ranked for me now.

Now I just need to do the missions and I can get on with actually learning the characters and matchups. I'm so far behind the curve. Keep falling for stupid cheap stuff all night. My fault for trying to grind through arcade w/ Sentinel to unlock everything first. Too bad Sentinel shows up as my most-used character as a result. It's a badge of shame.

Are you choosing Skill Range- Any? I've never really been paired up with anyone other than 5th Lords or lower when I set it to same skill.

Just got my arcade stick an hour ago. I found a grip I'm comfortable with, but I'm not comfortable with the buttons yet. I have it set up as light, medium, p1 on top and special, heavy , p2 on the bottom. What is the correct finger placement?

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map

I have my fingers and thumb placed like this:

[F] [F] [F]
[T]

Thumb on Special, fingers on L M H, though you can set them to whatever you prefer, of course.

Heh, yeah. Only to get that achievement of fighting a 1st Lord. Never gonna get it otherwise. So it was just a beatdown until I got it. I'd definitely set it to same now that I got it. Made my record look horrible, but I'll probably just do player matches at same skill from now on.

This configuration is perfect thank you. I was reading the shoryukens are hard to do at first, but I'm not having any trouble with them at all. The only thing that gives me problems is moves from the other side of the screen, but that is just because I need practice. I really love using the arcade stick. It's much more comfortable than I thought it would be.

Spencer's Bionic Arm has an enormous hit box. It hits if your on the ground and in the air.
Not to mention that it's pretty quick and has pretty good priority.

Too bad I dropped Spencer for Tasky. Tasky's assist helps Joe get in for shenanigans -- not to mention I know more combos with Tasky in comparison to Spencer.

Pretty sure it's the other way around. Off the top of my head Chun-Li is the only character I think of without an OTG.

Yeah, that's my bad. I thought you meant assist OTG that most characters don't have.

_tetsuo_ said:
Cap doesn't have one either.
Neither does Joe, unless you want to count his Shocking Pink (the bomb) which is unreliable as an OTG for me lol.

His Red Hot Kick (M) used to. =( Sad they removed that...

if your point character isn't OTG-capable at least make sure your assist can do it so you can call it to extend your combo. otherwise you are just leaving free damage on the table.

Good low hitting OTG assists are Wesker's shot and X-23's Ankle Slice.

I think C.Viper's Seismic Hammer is good for that too.

I use Wesker for the OTG assist in my Joe/Taskmaster/Wesker team. Wesker's a good last character, who's pretty scary at Level 3 XFactor if needed.
