Marvel's Spider Man Remastered is coming to PC on August 12, 2022 (also Miles Morales Fall 2022)

cool, great game for PC gamers, guess Sony is preparing to announce SM2 gameplay in the future.

I knew it! PC is gonna eat so fucking good this generation! Now all we need are official Nintendo to PC ports.

@GHG ps5DE literally got it for this one game. Maybe you should step back and realize I'm a gamer first of all. I respect you as a poster on gaf, but holy shit you're really trying me. I don't get why people can't accept any criticism? You'll see me complain about every game possible. PC, Xbox, ps5. Not sure why you are coming at me like that?

(Nintendo gets a pass though)
I mean, it doesn't change the framerate, but PERCEIVELY it does change and makes it more smooth. Trust me, I have an uncle who works at Sony. He said they will implement VRR when people want better performance and don't think it's a bad thing. He said at this rate, there's no point as people don't mind frame rate drops. Please complain so I can get better performance on my panel. Please just do it.
Now you can get the PC version of Spiderman, and keep the PS5DE that you definitely bought purely for playing GT7 😁

Maybe you can also ask your uncle who works at Sony for a port of Bloodborne too.

And at the same time ask him what VRR is, and what it does and doesn't do 😂😂😂

Jimmy chasing them dollars

This is going to happen A LOT more

People posting old tweets as if they are some sort of "gotcha" moments are weird.
As if developers don't want the biggest number of people playing their games, lmao.

The only thing you're proving is that these games weren't planned for PC. Probably since Nixxes was acquired last year.

It's a shame I bought Spiderman digitally, I would be in my car and heading to Gamestop to trade right now. $6.60 trade in value.

Xbox fanboys are having a field day on twitter; not because they're excited to play the game mind you, but because it's not a PS exclusive anymore.

So Last of Us the last big popular Sony game with no news of a port? And knack of course

Enjoy PC fam! No regrets playing on PS5.

If this continues tho, I may need to get that PC. Sony- give us trophies on PC.

I hope that for the pc players owning a dualsense , that it is fully supported...That little swishhh at the end of the trigger course when you are webbing through the city is very satisfying.(that swish is a slight and soft resistance that simulate the webthing (I have no idea how it is called, the gadget that propells the web fluid)).

I dub this the new ps exclusive coming to pc gif. It shall be used atleast once in every announcement thread. We eating.

well of course. most fanboys own the other consoles as well. There no law saying you cant.

To get Spider Man Remastered on PS5 you have to buy the Miles Morales ultimate edition. It's weird that they'll sell it standalone on PC but they won't sell it standalone on PS5. They won't even let you upgrade the PS4 version to the PS5 remastered version.

It's not warrior talk. I feel it's a legitimate gripe that I spent a lot of money on it for PS4, including all of the DLC before there was a game of the year edition, and the only upgrade path to PS5 enhancements is to buy a different game to be able to get it. Sony can go screw themselves for that one.

Apologies. I misunderstood your point.

Edit: Probably too much Dragon's Milk last night. Calling your post "warrior talk" was out of line. Sorry about that.

Horizon ZD - 2020
Days Gone - 2021
GOW - 2022
UC4 - 2022
Spiderman - 2022
Miles Morales - 2022

If you guys cant see a big ramp up of PC ports, supported by Nixxes buyout, PS for PC branding, and a slew of powerpoint slides promoting PC focus, you got to just admit it's flood gates open.

Sony isn't doing all this so that in 2023 everything comes to a halt and all Nixxes does is release one port per year like the beginning.

Sony has a bunch more key backlog games to port over like GT7, LOU, Ghost, Demons Souls, R&C, The Show... and the Returnal and Sackboy rumours too.

Once they get these out of the way in 2023, it'll be a focus for PS5 games on PC faster. They just got to get these older ports out of the way, thats why they are doing 4 this year. Maybe even more if there's unannounced ports.

I'll say 2024 is the year PS5/PC ports really start to come together either day one or quickly (like 6 months gap).

I wonder how funny it will be for them if we ever read the news that PlayStation Studios is doing better as a PC publisher than MS...?

Seriously...i'm not running to buy a PC just because other platforms can now play these games. What an idiotic line of thinking...

Will wait a few more years for both games bundled in a Steam sale.

Why would that be funny? Sony is porting their good games and they've proven to be good sellers on PS.

The PC crowd isnt a list war or sales war fanatic.

More proof that Sony doesn't care and it's full on pc mode. It may be a bit older, but this is a huge console exclusive and one less reason to own a PlayStation.

The ports are coming because the $$$ profits porting to be PC outweigh whatever losses hardcore PS ecosystem fans leave for PC.

No different than Apple. The second they realized going mass market with U2 advertising, Intel chips, and iTunes for PC would 10-fold their sales, they ditched all their legacy architecture and rebel advertising for the niche crowd and switched to mass appeal products and TV ads.

For every lifetime Apple fan from the 80s lost, probably got replaced by 20 PC users.

By the time the game releases on PC it will be almost half a decade since it first released on PlayStation. It has been available in every subscription service for years as well.

It was a huge "console exclusive" but Sony probably realized it's not doing anything for them anymore stuck in a single piece of hardware. No one is buying a PS consoles to play this in 2022.

Spider-Man 2 next year though? That will be different.

I agree with most of this, but it will be interesting to see if the long term sales loss of consoles hurts the image of the console leader. It certainly did to some extent for ms, nobody cared that they had pc sales and less consoles sold. I guess it depends on how many they lose. Also for every console that isn't purchased they lose 3rd party revenues completely. And they also don't currently control the pc sandbox.

Way to minimize it, it's one of thier biggest games and it's less than 4 years, plus the myles add on (or stand alone if u want), that isnt nearly as old, plus it's remastered, so let's not say half a decade.

Based on the huge sales of spiderman, and lack price drops on ps5 in general, I'd say that's not true. And even if they aren't buying it specifically for spiderman today, it might be one of the reasons. Also eventually the reputation will be everything is on pc even if they aren't buying it for it today.

Really comes down to how much Sony cares about console market share vs. profits. Hard to have both when PC is a giant untapped market with some gamers who will go PC. But if those 200 million Steam users buy up all the GOW and Spidermans like gangbusters, most CEOs will choose the profit route.

It's not like the Playstation brand is hurting for unit sales and market share. They can afford to ease up a touch on unit sales gunning for the giant PC crowd.
