Metal Gear Solid Δ Snake Eater |OT| Hungry for More Snake?

Man I wanna get hyped but I just can't for some reason. Mind you, MGS is my all time favourite series. How's the PC performance?

They have basically added MGSV movement and parta of his gameplay to MGS3. Not fully but very close. For me that's enough to be hyped. On top of the amazing graphics

The performance on pc seems to be demanding. But if your pc is stronger than a ps5 I would go for the pc version

For longtime players, does it just feel like going through the motions?

Not that I'm going to say no to going through the motions again with spruced up graphics. I guess I'm just hoping the gameplay feels fresh from the updated ai and controls.

I'm still conflicted on what platform to get the game on. PS5 Pro with frame rate drops, or PC with a better frame rate, but far worse stuttering. Stuttering all the time bugs me a lot more as VRR can't do anything to help with that like it can frame drops. Of all the UE5 games I've played, I've noticed consoles have far less stuttering. Is this due to the faster I/O of the consoles, even though they're weaker in other areas ?

My PC is also weaker in the GPU department (122GB 3060), but no doubt DLAA at 1080p will still look better on my 4K Sony TV than PSRR will at a higher base resolution.

Decisions decisions.

That's great to read! My rig is a monster no worries in that department. Thank you papito

Yuck,
Another remake attempt that ruins the art and tone instead of enhancing it.

Awesome OT

The greatest MGS imo and it looks amazing

Will wait on ultra wide patches on PC though before joining, Silksong and Hell is Us likely before.

Is ultra wide something they said they'd add? Weird to me it came out on PC without it. (or do you mean unofficial ulra wide patches?)

The original isn't realistic and that kind of blooming would never happen, but it is artist intent.
They have changed the position of the godrays though so that changes a lot.
Does enabling the piss filter bring it closer to the original ?

You should go with PS5 Pro

Solid Snake uses the exact same combo in MGS4 tho….

The problem with Delta is how poorly the animation is done.

I figure it was because his body is deteriorating in that game.

The thing that puts me off about Delta is exactly the PS2 animations. I understand they wanted to keep the PS2 logic but it looks a bit weird now.

I have a 4070 ti and I have everything on ultra and dlss quality and I'm hitting 60 fps so far at 1440p. Haven't played a whole lot of the game yet, maybe it gets more demanding. This is definitely one of the best looking games I've played.

I'm in, boys. Running it on ultra preset, ultrawide resolution; so far buttery smooth and quiet as a kitten. Then again it's capped at a pathetic 60fps so it's expected.

Had to change from borderless windowed to fullscreen because it was buggy on the former. Also had to make a few adjustments to the default controller layout. Curiously, the mouse look sensitivity had to be maxed out just to feel decent. I'm using the modernized control scheme which feels gooood (so far).

No issues with the graphics yet, although I'm barely at the start. Colors look faded to me, but not bad. I'm sure we'll get some nice reshades soon. (I'm on a 4090 for those curious).

How did you get ultra wide working?

The biggest irony is that the first picture is not from the original. Its from the HD remaster

Oh I thought it was just poor image quality.

I really dont care about the filte they mention if its a basic,. static tint adjustment or simething.

It would need to change scene by scene to be worthwhile..

Thought the same of the shitty filters they had for demon souls and sotc remake

Remaster still looks better even with changed contrast

Remake just absolutely ruins it, but yay more pixels???

You can't go higher than 60 fps, that's what is reported for PC version. Dumb decision. Its why I was laughing in the graphic fidelity thread
So dumb.

But tbh, i doubt an heavy ue5 game could run much higher than 60 frames at 4k without dlss on my 4080 so it's not the end of the world.

It looks lean UE5 though and the map are still cutoff like the original so small maps in UE5 never showed a problem, open world games though did.

Not the end of the world but I'm just gonna wait for ultrawide and >60 fps mod which likely inevitable. I can't possibly start this anyway with Silksong coming next week.
