So without spoiling the game...

Are there any clever "Kojima twists" that happen, like:

MGS1
Psycho Mantis screws with your system
MGS2
Psycho Colonel screws with your game
MGS3
Sorrow's twist
MGS4
Psycho Mantis tries to screw with you... and fails

And are they "wtf" worthy?

Been playing it for a bit this evening and it is sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than PO. I still think the PSP is a really bad system when it comes to playing games that require constant 3D camera movement, but I think this is the best it's going to get. The graphics are pretty great, although the dithering is really nasty at times. This has been a problem with most graphically top-tier PSP titles, so I can't knock it too hard.

No.

Got Medic Unit and Food unit finally. Now to start fultoning the shit out of the enemy to raise these to a good level.

Also WTF
the banana factory is a front for drugs that was funded by the KGB.
I'm starting to think that
the KGB is actually more involved and that the nukes are theirs

Any tips on beating the
HIND
? I tried taking out the escorts and when there didn't seem any left used an RPG and my assault rifle but that barely depleted it's HP.

Take out those initial troops and just equip your rpg and run around. Wait until the hind is in position to release more troops and fire at the door. You should be able to kill them all before they hit the ground. Do this often enough and the HIND pilot should stick his head out, allowing you to kill/tranq him and take the HIND

Can you repair vehicles you capture (I don't think this a spoiler?), at all? I captured a vehicle that is at 67% health and wondering if I should worry about it or not.

They repair automatically between missions.

Okay, cool. Good to know I don't have to worry about them too much then. :D :lol

I got a question for those of you who bought the Big Boss bundle. On the box it says it includes a 2012 movie download voucher. I've looked through everything in the box and did not find the voucher. Am I fucked? What dose the voucher look like?

I missed what I believe a very important part in a cutscene, is there anyway to watch it again without starting the act over?

There's a cutscene viewer on the mission map. Most (if not all of them) appear there.

Glad so many people are liking this.:D Still playing my JPN version and the post-game content is ridiculously good.:D

Can anyone confirm or deny that Peace Walker is basically what Kojima wanted Portable Ops to be? Like, he told his team to make it with this that and the other but then PO came out and he was just like, shit, once I'm done with 4 I'll go ahead and make it myself.

I'm almost completely convinced that this is what happened.

Lol seems that way. Poor Port Ops =(

This is annoying. I'm at the last boss of chapter 4 and man the reviews were not so wrong. If you play alone all the main bosses are bullet sponges. Basically you shoot rocket at them, again and again and again. Now I have to grind to get better missiles. Grinding in a MGS game :(.

This game is soooooo badass...but...

I CAN'T GET THE CONTROLS THE WAY I WANT THEM SO I DON'T SUCK!!!

Seriously, I've tried every control scheme and I just can't do it. I've played tons of PSP games, never any shooters tho, and I've never been so frustrated.

People always complained about Monster Hunter controls and I never had any problem, but now with MGPW I totally see how the lack of dual sticks can drive you nuts. Having to use the Dpad to move the crosshairs is such a pain, having to use the face buttons drives me nuts cause then my actions are on the Dpad....gah!!

There's like so many functions to the gameplay no matter how you adjust the controls your gimping your gameplay in another area.

Any tips guys? Game has been a blast but I'm seriously fighting the controls more then the enemies. Any news on dual shock adapter? Anything, any help...

Action Type
L+R
Nub aim.

2000000000000000x better than the other two control schemes.

(Duckroll and Square Triangle gonna hate)

Only issue is you can't move while aiming unless you remove your finger off L to move while staying in aiming, slightly annoying but I don't use the gun in the heat of battle too often to require moving. So yeah, I line up my shot with L+R or go CQC.

Well, just played a bunch of CO-OPS with some friends...

All I can say is it is clear we are not ready for Pupa Mk II. 30 minutes and it still had half it's health.

Hunter Controls w/ Monster Hunter Claw ftw

3rd boss fight- Any way to beat it without outright destroying it?

What's the third one? The AI? You have to destroy the AI. If it's a vehicle you can get them all.

Is anyone here playing PW on the PSP Go? If so, how do you like it? I'm just trying to see if there was a difference to the feel on the controls on the PSP Go vs the 3000 model.

Peace Walker
? What missile launcher did you use? I'm stuck :(

Pupa

AI would be the red/black glowing thing on the front?

Yes it's his weak spot.

I'm playing on PSP Go, sadly. It controls perfectly, but I hate that I actually bought this fucking device. I couldn't get the special edition of the game that came with a ton of extras and I couldn't compare pricing among stores.

Fuck digital distribution in it's current state.

The game itself is pure awesome, though.

Ton of extras? I thought the Peace Walker LE only came with some 40 page soft cover art book? Was there something else in there as well? From what I read it's a pretty weak LE for the extra $10 they charge for it.

I'm pretty sure it comes with a bunch of extra in-game stuff.

Let me think... I often go into bosses in the Battle garb and take these weapons:
Surface-to-air missile
RPG-7
Whichever machine gun has 600 rounds
(not the best descriptions I know)

I found with
Peace Walker
he's actually really easy to dodge, I only got hit a few times. Hang out underneath the
legs
and fire at the AI pod, only backing up when he fires his
flamethrower
. If you keep moving back and forth under the
legs
, you can force him to turn around all the time and waste his movements.

*edit* Unless you meant
phase 2
, in which case it's really just a long boring battle where you should use a machine gun to prevent
nuke launch
.

Grrr...
sniper in the basin
grrr... Didn't realize you couldn't fulton them this early in the game yet. Should've killed the fucker, but would fuck with my no alert/no kills in this run (the initial run of the level) ugh. :|

Yes that the one. Man it sucks my ps3 cannot do ad hoc. It's not even hard, it's only my guns and rockets are not strong enough so it takes forever :(.

go you get notice when you enter a new chapter? I mean, I've been playing for quite a while. 15 hours in and I didn't notice if I entered cpt 2 already or not. is the game really that long? not complaining of course. the longer the story is the better. I enjoy it quite a bit.

When you start a mission of a new chapter, you get the chapter title before the comic book cutscenes. There is one AI boss per chapter.
