So im completely lost with all the 'Staff' management in Mother Base....in fact i hardly spend any time at mother base. Is it perfectly ok to just use the auto arrange option for sorting your staff members out or will i regret it later on in the game??. I have also noticed there is a number next to the staff menu, which i think usually indicates that there is something new for that menu, but when i go into the staff menu i cant see anything that needs my attention!?

I have like main mission anxiety. I'm only through mission 17 but have 3/4 platforms on everything on mother base. I just can't bring myself to play a main mission

this's almost exactly the point i got to when i just went full-on story missions through episode 31. cuz it felt like if i didn't then, i never would :) ...

Early Chapter 2 question/remark (no missions):

Why does doing the legendary Jackal mission randomly unlock the Wormhole fulton upgrade? Not even a key item for it. I would have thought that would be invented by Huey in some wacky cutscene..

Because Zone of the Enders or something. There is a similar mission to get the Wisp arm.

I didn't even escort them.
I traq them all as soon as we left the cave then called for 2 jeeps drop, put them in the jeeps and extracted the jeeps
. I always do this to every
child soldier
I encounter lol

Holy shit, that's ingenious. I didn't even think of doing something like that. When I redo this mission, I'll be using this tactic to make my life infinitely easier.

For most part, don't worry about it. Maybe check in, sort each division by skill and get rid of the ones with the trouble maker skill to avoid having your staff getting into fights but you'll be fine letting it auto assign staff. It wont be optimized for what you exactly want to do but it's more than good enough.

Very quick question : I saw when connectong that somebody's infiltration of my FOB failed... And now I have a revenge wormhole. I I try a revenge, and fail, will he have ANOTHER revenge tunel ?

Meaning : can I get "safe revenge" or will my FOB be in danger if I lose ?

Yeah You need to get to the goal without getting spotted I think. But you're at risk from randoms anyway so it doesn't matter too much.

Also, I developed the Combat Suit lvl4 or something, it says that it can be equipped by security members... where can I equip it to security staff? I only see the option for lethal / non lethal...

So I'm very slowly chipping away at the missions. Had just started mission 9
blow up the enemy transports in 15 minutes
I was crushing it. Kaz was singing my praises, tell me this is why I'm a legend. I finish the mission, at what I believe to be perfectly, but then they tell me the
Russians have sent a gunship and tanks for me.
So I figure by this point, since they said the main mission was completed, I'm good. Games saved. So I decide, why not, lets blow up the rest of the shit for some extra cash. On the last tank, as it's about to explode, it kills me. I'm like, ah man, I have redo this last bit of this mission again, no big deal. Game reloads, I'm back at the start of the mission.

Promptly shut off PS4, cursed Kojima and went to bed.

So far the worst mission of the game I've played. Reminds me of the old PS2 GTA games. Checkpoints? Screw you!

yea, I wonder if their gear is just automatic or randomized.

The cutscene/gameplay ratio is definitely more cutscene heavy in chapter 2 before finishing the final chapters of the game. There is inarguably more cutscenes between
episode 32 and 46
. Especially when you consider that the replay missions are optional

Problem is many of the cutscenes in Chapter 2 don't tell a cohesive narrative and rather they take a scattershot approach in which many cases don't pay off.

Okay so I bought the American version so I could use my save file, and now it tells me it can't be used because the relevant DLC can't be found.

WTF

I was playing the digital Day One edition on my brothers console on my profile.

I uploaded my ground zeroes save file.

Got all my pow's.

I copied the file onto a flash drive.

What am I missing?

I redeemed the DLC code too, but no dice.

This has happened to me with two games before, but it may not be the same issue.

PS4 yeah? Basically go to the game on the dash. Scroll down. Keep scrolling down. At the bottom there will hopefully be a segment for DLCs. Select then and you should be able to redownload them.

Otherwise you might need to make an American PSN account (easy).

It was fun watching her facial expression change as she saw her self. She is very beautiful.

At what time does this happen? I can't seem to find the point where she encounters herself.

So is there ANY point of doing all of the side ops or getting 100%? I finished Chapter 2 and haven't done mission 45 yet. I kind of just want to get that over with and be done with it.

On mission 32 (?), [Extreme] Traitors' Caravan
how do I defeat the skull unit? I tried using RPGs, shotguns, machine guns and nothing does serious damage against the skull unit. What works?

D-Walker is your friend.

That or
quickly run to the airport, sneak in and fulton the truck before the tanks get to it, then hop on the container outside the gate and fulton out. S rank in 5 minutes.

I'm currently playing through MGSV with my partner sat here, we're upto
Brazil
and have done the first mission there.

Does anyone have a list of main missions, ones that are story related and ones that are just re-hashes of the same place but do X instead of Y.

Levels like
BLOODHOUND (walker gear) and Where do bees sleep
are what I'd call story missions VS
extract the prisoner etc

Shes not around all the time so i want to save some missions for when shes there and some for when shes not and i can just go through them

There were a couple of tanks near where I engaged them so I used those.

The story is becoming more and more cheesy/stupid. And I like it. I should really play MGS 2 some day, maybe that's a game for me.

When you can, play 1-3 in a row. They're all pretty short save the story, which can take as long as you want depending on how much you like codecs. Something as stupid as living on through an arm getting validated through characters in another makes it all worth it.

I played 1-3-4 and loved all of them, I know 4 spoiled 2 for me but I think I should play that one soon.

There's a new video review thread with a title I don't like AT ALL
quite suggestive?
. It might...
Please, those who already finished the campaign (I haven't) can anyone check it out?

PSA In case some people don't visit the FOB thread:

If you're still going through the early story but you already know that you do not want to participate in FOB infiltration (in fear of having your stuff stolen etc., not want to deal with online mp yet etc.) until you do, there is a way to get all the benefits from FOB (base expansion, more units, resources etc.) w/o dealing with human players.

The trick is to be never online while in the ACC (helicopter). Everywhere else is fine (you can manually login/logout in the pause menu).
Spoiler for from which Mission on you have to do this:
21/22

This will prevent triggering the infiltration FOB tutorial until you do decide to do it (e.g. after the story or when you feel like your base would be too hard to successfully infiltrate for most players).

This allows you to still develop the FOB (more room for soldiers and higher unit ranks!) and security devices, gain additional resources and even participate in the virtual PF rank matches (and as you don't have to worry about spending actual money as no real players can invade you, that means that you can crank up your FOB defense to max AFAIK to gain an advantage).
You just won't be able to infiltrate other players, help protect the base of other players and of course you can't get infiltrated yourself.

Started playing the game and have a few questions:

1- What is the easiest way to identify all the side objectives? I try to scout every place before I go in and yet it doesn't show me the side objectives.

2- I'm still at the beginning (episode 6) so is level C good for soldiers to take them to the mother base or should I take only B and higher?

3- Mother base tutorial is pretty useless and doesn't teach you many things. I heard I can send soldiers on missions to bring more soldiers and resources to the mother base how can I do that?

first time i failed to see where the van is
second time the tanks killed me
third time when i got fulton for vehicles the ghosts kill me
and since then no progress.
whereever and whenever i try to get away with the van they fucking kill me.

sometimes there is some sort of stone or something flying it me, but its really rare so iam not sure what this is about.
i dont want shitty yt-walkthroughs, i want a simple quick helpful info regarding to this specific one question, if somebody is able to deliver.
