There's a button next to the door. But it's not the top floor it's on the outside below the helipad. There's some signs with a black skull with his hair and glasses.
Thanks. Seriously can't believe i missed that wow

But damn it still wont trigger mission 35 wtf is going on?! Ps can someone explain the cutscene I was only half listening the dr office called during it :(

Mother Base is so wonderful detailed, would be interesting if they would do a full fledged Sons of Liberty Remake with additional areas and ways. Everytime I move around it, I have to think about Big Shell and how they could do stuff.

So wonderfully detailed yet so utterly lacking in basically anything to do. I really feel like they spent way too much time and money creating all of that stuff. You don't even see core characters walking around.

Probably old already around these parts but man this is cool.

Yeah, I keep going back to Mother Base hoping something is happening, but its always so sterile and boring.

You dont even get to see soldiers in the med bay or brig. Going there always feels like a total waste of time.

Also, when does Quiet become available as a buddy? I keep checking on her but shes just laying around the cage in the medical wing.

yeah, why can't I visit Ocelot or Miller?
why can't I visit the R&D workplace etc?

I only go back to MB if I have too..

I gave in and watched the S Rank Guide video by Power Pyx.

Do the various doors on MB with a red light and make the "locked" noise ever open up?

I've only ever seen the one on the Medical Platform, and the one on the lower R&D platform open up. I've found locked doors that react to me however on Command and upper R&D platforms at least.

Can you fulton vehicles yet?

xxracerxx

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Have you tried air strikes

Im starting to hate this game
That mission was a serious disappointment. I moved past it and have tried to forget about it, but I understand the feeling.

A game that applies a solid, consistent set of rules to the entire open world, the provides the player the tools to come up with their own plans and see them through, should not then turn around and toss all of that aside so blatantly.
Timed missions suck, timed missions in stealth and recon focused games sucks more, timed missions where you don't even understand what you're out to do until the clock starts ticking sucks even more, and enemies that magically appear when you get close, and then magically know your position and shamble their way towards you is just cheap, cheap and cheap.
I've enjoyed the missions since though and hope that was just a bad mission and not a sign of things to come.

Honestly? It can be very, very easy. Have you got a [personnel spoiler]
Transportation Specialist
?

I have no idea what the rest of your post means but the above is exactly what you use to beat
The Skulls
.

I've nearly 100%'d the game and I still find that mission to be bullshit. Stick with it, it's the biggest difficulty spike in the game by far. And yes, it's terribly designed.

It can potentially be one of the quickest and easiest mission in the game. 45 I understand people having trouble with, but recommending airstrikes and complaining about time on 16? You have five years before the armored vehicles start moving.

It is absolutely not comparable to 45.

Personally, I've never understood the issue with it and I didn't have
Fulton +2
when I did it.

TipsI can give is

dont attempt the mission if you do not have the ability to fulton vehicles

Second try intercepting the vehicles between outposts so that you do not have to contend with anyone else. Lay some traps on the road.

Use Decoys and direct the enemies to the opposite direction and only then fulton.

If you have a powerful launcher then go ahead and engage them in combat. It is not that hard to finish them off.

There is no way you will find any of these things difficult. It should work. I would say dont give up on the game just because of one badly designed mission.

My biggest complaint about 16 is not really the difficulty (though I had my share of troubles), but the fact that everything they were trying to do with that mission instantly becomes pointless if you proceed as intended and die halfway through. The mission spoils itself.

What is it about it that's badly designed...?

Well I think Nullpointer said it best

Having said that I guess bad is too harsh a word. I take it back. It is not the most fun mission to do and I will admit I had some problems attempting that mission without Fulton. Mission 45 is one of the worst missions if not the worst though. That one sucks so bad.

Just wait until you finish a mission, decide to go back to medical bay and the game decides that now is a proper time to show a 20 second cutscene with zero dialogue and instead takes you to you the main part of motherbase. So then you gotta call the helicopter and go to the medical bay, which actually takes 4x longer than just leaving the base and travelling back to mother base. You get Quiet a couple missions after you see some cutscene with her at motherbase. Just keep doing the story missions.

For my take, all the parts I mentioned in my previous post. And here:

Create a game that rewards patience and preparation and proper recon and careful movements, and then throw that all out the window by forcing a timer. Start that timer when the mission starts and only then tell the player the overall scenario - you know you have to fulton a truck, and know that it'll have some protection, but you don't know where its traveling from or to, nor do you know that nature of its protection - not until you get on the ground with your loadout and buddy and do some interrogating - at which point your loadout and/or buddy might not be right for the mission.

But lets say the player is ready for that, or quickly adapts to changing circumstances, the mission throws a big fuck you by having the most powerful enemies in the game - (at that point anyway) magically spring into existence when the player gets close, no matter how stealthy that player is being. That's cheap, and its a designer cheating with their own rules, to force the player into a surprise bad-situation.

Even if you are in perfect stealth the enemies will all face you and shamble towards you - again a violation of the rules established in the game and reinforced in every mission and side op. You throw those ground rules aside and the world is no longer fair or consistent but capricious and forced.

Its a mission that's fucked on first playthroughs with its combination of surprises and cheapness and a ticking clock, and maybe upgrades to mediocre on subsequent replays.

Or you pop out the cardboard box and travel within your base in like ten seconds.

Ive tried most of these things and I keep failing, as soon as I try to fulton the vehicle, the stupid ghosts or what ever come and shoot it down. Then i thought id get into the tank and kill them, but for some reason I cant get the tank to shoot anything.

Then when I finally did, i blew up the vehicle and then each time I reloaded the checkpoint, the vehicle kept blowing up on its own. So I had to restart.

Then I decided fuck it, ill go straight to the air port and do it there.

Nope.

I die before I can even find the vehicle.

I guess I just suck ass at this game. Its really frustating. It shouldnt take 3-4 hours to complete 1 mission. Im to the point now where if i try anymore, im just gonna get angry. I had to stop for the day. This shit is just too annoying.

It really sucks too, i was enjoying this game, but it seems like I just dont have the patience for this shit anymore. And whats even dumber is that this feels like a fucking side-op. I bet this leads to 0 story progression.

Sorry, im just salty right now. Thanks for the tips and when I try again later Ill see if I can implement them.

I admit I cheesed through Traitor's Caravan both times (Normal and Expert) by just heading straight to the airport, activating the Stealth Camo.PP item when the Skulls cutscene triggered, extracted the truck and got the heck out.

If you extract it too close to a Skull, they'll detect you even through the Stealth camo, so I just attached the fulton roughly at the middle of the truck on one of the sides, which works well enough and goes undetected. Of course due that item the best way you can end the Mission is an A rank, but it's almost a guaranteed rank here given how fast you can do it that way.

You only need to time your uses of the item pretty well, but since there's a building nearby, it's not hard to just sprint back there, let one use expire and use the other one to get the heck out without being detected.

Use the box on the orange spot, hold triangle. It's the best way to travel through the base.

At that point, what does it matter if you get seen if you're only getting an A rank? Extract the truck, get on a resource container, and extract yourself that way. S-Rank in 1 minute. There's no way you get killed.

Mission 16
you can kite around the skulls and eventually fulton the truck before they notice you. If you get spotted bailing out, that's fine because that doesn't count as an alert.

You don't actually have to abandon a stealth playstyle for this mission.

Actually I haven't tried that at least for the Expert playthrough of it. Back when I was on the Normal Mode mission, I haven't had Cargo extraction unlocked yet so that wasn't an option to me and for all Expert modes I just kinda repeated my approach which always worked well enough.

I'll try that when I go for S-Ranking all missions. Thanks!

Every story bit in this game makes me feel like I should feel something... but I don't. Maybe it's the lack of dialogue from Big Boss but something just seems off...

Maybe my nostalgia runs deeper for the older mgs games but I hope I get some feels at the end of this game

Just finished mission 46.

Really bummed it was basically just another recycled mission with five minutes of new content, and I feel like it came out of absolutely nowhere. Is it even worth playing the last three missions? Do I unlock anything? What about listening to the tapes?

Also, how do I find the last
photo? I stopped unlocking the mother base operative missions.

It definetely becomes easier on subsequent playthroughs. I did the mission again after completing the story mode for extracting
Skulls
and finished in a couple of minutes or so
by directly going to the airport and using the launcher to take them out and extract them
and got an S. It is a boring mission but it is awesome for farming quality soldiers on subsequent playthroughs after you leveled up your mother base.

Yeah I can understand that. Just take a break from that mission and do some sideops and come back to it later. You will no doubt finish it quickly. With regard to story progression I should tell you that most missions in MGSV dont contribute to story progression lol. The story sucks so bad in this.
