Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain |OT2| A Franchise Robbed Of Its Future

Once you unlock the combat unit, you can use any soldier assigned to it. There's even a trophy for completing a story mission with one.

Yeah. Other than just for looks, many of them have special abilities that Snake doesn't have. You don't have the bionic arm nor its upgrades, obviously, but that's not really a huge issue.

Guys with faster sprint are amazing to use, and the ones with longer reflex times can really save you in a pinch.

The actual phantom pain is getting to me. I was just playing Mad Max after telling myself I needed to move on from MGSV. Now here I am putting the game back into my system telling myself I should at least 100% it first. God what's wrong with me

I've been doing a similar thing... but even less logically --I don't care about the 100%
So I've been replaying all of the missions I can "Subsistence" style, OSP, the least amount of gear possible, no buddies, all the HUD I can turn off (Including marking). Makes me really appreciate the games aesthetic a ways more than when I was just running around marks dots in the distance, I have to pay close attention to the environment, keep close eyes on my enemies, and where they are at all times, it makes you get creative with limited resources, really push the A.I. to it's limits -- I've also been doing "Item only" runs, knocking out guys by popping Active Decoys at their feet. The game is just tremendous fun.

Guy's I can't unlock the Killer Bee and its driving me insane. I already extracted both missile guidance specialists from "A proxy without end" and "On the trail." It still says I need the guidance specialist in the developments list. What's going on?

Make sure you have the specialist in the R&D team, or else he's not active. Just place someone in the waiting room for a bit, place the guidance specialist in the R&D team, start the development and then move him back to wherever.

Phew, thanks a lot! I was worried the game glitched for a minute.

Since acquiring Quiet as a buddy, it's been a lot easier being able to sneak around.

I basically use her as decoy while I take guys out from close range.

Chapter 2 Side Op spoilers

I spot an enemy Gunship circling around the Oil Rig, looming over the perimeters of my target. I wince as I feel my last ounce of care drained from me.

I hoist up an FB MR MK-II recoiless rifle over my wearied shoulder, and not even the deafening whistle can overcome my words...

That was ours! GIve it back! I wanted my care back, damn it! I was gonna put effort into this side op!

---

Seriously, the gunships in this game are far annoying than the skulls. Because you're either forced to wait on it to fly past every minute, or you have to change your load out just to deal with it. Probably the only way I can think of to possibly take one out non-lethally is to use D-Walker's fulton cannon, and I don't even know if they programmed that to even work.

I'm finding it hard to motivate myself to play this over my destiny character which is pretty sad as I beasted MGS4 and loved it but this just doesn't seem as compelling at all.

Guys how many of you managed to do an S rank on the furst mission run ? Is this even possible if not just lucky? I mean objectives are locked at first.

I'd say about 40-50% of my first runs so far have scraped by S Rank. You don't have to get the hidden objectives to get it, I've been aiming to quickly 'Perfect Stealth/No Kill' most main missions which gives a huge point bonus.

I always use a homing rocket launcher such as CGM25 on gunships. But I'll do it before wiping every other enemies of the area because it gives away your position.

Literally just had my first crash (black screen) EVER in 74 hours (according to my records in main menu).

Impressive PC title.

just here to say i hate that mission. trying to run all over for the tasks, ugh. i think it's the worst in the whole game.

Deploy in the north if the map. Put an obstruction out on the road (I used a decoy). Hide behind a rock and wait for them to drive by and stop. Fulton out the APCs. Rinse. Repeat.

The FB-MR MK II is fairly strong and uses biological material, a material which is very easy to have an overabundance of, as its deployment cost which is why I use it.

How many hit do you need to take down a gunship with that ? It shouldn't be that annoying since you can lock&fire then cover and repeat

Hey guys, I have been absent from this board because I am kind of a spoiler freak guy when it comes to MGSV, so my question has probably been answered a ton of times already.

So I apologize for this.

I just finished mission 38. And I am beginning to wonder which are the conditions required to unlock the full (true) ending.

Please, like I said beforehand, I am a total spoiler freak so I want you to answer in a complete spoiler free way. If it is impossible to answer my question vaguely without spoiling anything about the story, then I would prefer if I got no answer at all.

I just need to know completely spoiler free what conditions I have to meet in order to unlock the final final mission.

Thanks for your understanding.

i hate Backup, Back Down, and it hates me back. i extracted every vehicle but the last tank, which refused to spawn. fml. if anyone knows how to make it spawn, pls tell.

then i tried getting every prisoner in the ex version. didn't register. i assume the one i extracted together with the jeep didn't register. had to do another run.

Just keep doing missions and it'll pop. That's what happened to me at least. I got it while I was doing side-ops.

There are 2 missions that certain parameters need to be met in order to get their endings. Both of them are important to the overall story. For the first one you need to have a full bond level with Quiet and after a certain point a important side-op will pop up, complete that side-op and you will get the first of 2 missions I am talking about. For the second one you need to upgrade your base a good amount and this happens with regular play. Also you need to complete all the important side-ops in your list.

If you have issues with the next mission popping up, you need to complete 2-3 side-ops in order for the next one to show up

There is a mission that reveals everything and is considered the final mission (even though there is more after it). Just do the missions, important side-ops, and upgrade side-ops. Also listen to all cassette tapes. It shouldn't be hard.

How did
he know who Snake was anyways? Does he know Big Boss' relationship to him?
not through with the game yet

ok, Mission 45 was a pain but I'm done with that fucking thing.
The additional mission task of extracting the tanks and armored vehicles.....NOT A FUCKING CHANCE IN HELL

Will probably do Missions 47-50 before doing 46

What is? The wait? Just sit back and let them come to you. It's actually a pretty easy op. great way to add armor to your portfolio.

Quick review.

So I accidentally deleted MGSV off my ps4 after I don't know how many hours. All my upgrades and staff members. Crap, I hope my cloud saves were uploaded. I was only halfway through the game too I think.
