Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain |OT2| A Franchise Robbed Of Its Future

Welp, there are already people using trainers to cheat on the PC version - automatically putting all your security forces to sleep/using invulnerability hacks.
I guess I will have to stay offline and avoid the FOB completely unless Konami fixes it.

Sure they will.

The only way they might fix it is if they realize no one is buying MB Coins because the cheating is rampant. That's really the only way I see them doing anything about it.

Too bad I had to restart the mission because I couldn't extract it.

I know this is probably a weird question, but say I have a nuke, and for some reason you decide to invade me...can I actually nuke you?

edit: How did I double post in the OT. How. Guys post more ;-;

As far as I know no. It prevents retaliation strikes (I believe) as well as making it so that only people who themselves developed a nuke or have a massive amount of hero points can invade you. Seeing as it takes large quantities of resources that are much better spent elsewhere to build as well as a full day of development time I'm guessing (hoping) few people will bother making one.

So, I'm replaying GZ in order to get a more complete save transfer to TPP. Are the rescued/extracted POWs/unique characters cumulative across completed missions? Meaning, if I play 'Eliminate the Renegade Threat' by extracting Glaz, complete the mission, then restart the mission extracting Politz, do I get both unique characters? Or does it always have to be in one playthrough/completed mission for both to count?

Replayed the Bee mission.
I can only do a mission and a side until I pass out.

Work is killing me.
I used to do all night marathons. 😴😧

So I bought the MGSV official OST off iTunes
since I forgot I had $100 giftcard on it after several years.

Anyone know specifically which song is used for the alerts? It was used at the end of the gamescom trailer.

Mission 20 spoilers.

Man on Fire fight was a letdown. It was over in seconds as I ended up ramming him off a cliff with a nearby jeep lol.

The Devil's House had some crazy atmosphere going on though. So well done.

Mission 45 is negative fun.
what started off as an exciting hypefest turned into total bullshit after a bad checkpoint where i have zero ammo and because it checkpointed it doesnt count the supply drop that was on its way so the end result is i scramble for 30 seconds and pray my strat is good enough or i die, 2 hours later my strat has not proven to be good enough to avoid getting one shot.

Wait a tick... mission 29 spoilers.

I restarted the mission because I needed to fulton them but they disappeared after the mist left, so I restarted and died a billion times, and then finally got them and fultoned them all and even though only 3/4 made it, I have 15 parasites?

Each one must give a bunch. That's the only skull mission I have redone so far and I fultoned them out and had 20 armor parasites.

I'm confused (spoilers about Quiet up to the point when you actually get to use her as a buddy):

In the cutscene where Quiet shoots at the helicopter blades it seemed to me that the reason why Snake decided not to take Quiet out on missions was because they couldn't stay in communication in the field, what with Quiet being apparently mute and all. A few missions later I do the Visit Quiet side op where Ocelot tells me she's basically a plant or whatever (boy do I feel ashamed!) and suggests that I take her out on missions. And now I can.

Um, why?

As far as I could tell, the communication issue was never resolved, nor did they address Kaz's concerns about her working for Cipher, yet suddenly it's totally fine to have her tag along because she seems to like Snake or something? Am I missing something here?

My way was even lamer, I took too long trying to knock him into that square pool of water and it started raining and he disappeared. The mission still counted that as me fighting him off though.

Help? I'm on the blood runs deep mission

Died like a thousand times. I don't know what to do. I'm trying to get the kids out, and it feels like it's scripted that the guards will get an alert the kids are missing. Then I get snipers, enemies and a gun ship all trying to kill me at the same time. I do have a missile launcher, but it doesn't help since I can't lock on the the gun ship. Feels like there are no options. Enemies don't get the alert until I move up near the enemies to get ambushed

Up until this point I have been cruising along. But now I don't know what the fuck. Kinda don't want to start again since it took forever to get to this point
Knock the camp out, destroy the Anti Air Radar, destroy the gun ship with youblauncher, sneak close under it and call heli directly in front of the cave.

I always seem to be able to sneak in and fulfill my objective but then do something dumb to get caught during my escape. I'm still very early but it happened in both mission 2 and 3.

Well, shit happens. You'll get bettter with time and the shiny equip and buddies help too.

All cumulative, as far as I can tell. I didn't extract them all in one playthrough and got lots of recruits in TPP.

They're staggered out throughout the game though. You don't just get them all in one go.

Around Mission 31 spoilers

Oh thank God the story continues after the credits and it opens to chapter 2. I was nervous that was the end of the storyline. More Metal Gear!

Ammo conservation is key I found for that section.
What I did was always keep my machine gun above 10 bullets and always keep a rocket in the launcher. Perfect time to reload the machine gun is straight after dropping a rocket during the obvious window. Even then though, you're likely to occasionally get caught off guard with no rocket loaded when you could get the most use out of it.

After many deaths, I ended up realizing that I could just shoot the kid with a pistol during the Reflex Mode and then it stuns Sahelanthropus for a long time.

HOLY SHIT

Ok, so for anyone who's past mission 29, and are currently farming for
Armor Paracites

Just do mission 16. Those ones count. A lot.

Is it worth farming those things? When it says you get extra things, what did it mean? Which things? >_<

protip: If there are major camps in a mission's boundaries that are not picked as obvious objective locations, go there anyway to see if there are prisoners there. I just got an [mission 11 spoilers follow]
electroplating specialist/elite soldier
by doing this.

Kind of a spoiler for an outfit.

There's a Skull outfit which can be used with various items you develop to give you Skull abilities, such as the invisibility, the mist, and the armor. To craft them you need to extract fallen skull soldiers after defeating them, which gives you the required "parasites" in order to make them.

I can't believe there's no option to have a mini-map visible at all times. This is like open world game design 101.

When viewing the map you can switch modes so it shows while you move. It's not a good way to play all the time, especially with markers available on demand, but it's there if you need it. Unfortunately, I can't remember the button for it right now.

Probably old info for you guys, but I tried staying away from these threads until I felt I beat the game. I already did
mission 46
and
I see several scattered Total Stealth, Extreme, and Subsistence missions up to number 50.
Am I at the point where there are no more main missions?

xxracerxx

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
