Especially for stacking buddies.

You should be able to stack all the buddies.

Snake, D-Dog and Quiet on D-Horse on D-Walker.

Another thing is that after the
Huey
mission D walker can no longer carry people whats up with that?

I don't really now, but the answer I got was just play the missions that pop up and you will know.

Supposedly just doing Side Ops progresses things too?

That's why he's not a good buddy, you can't pick shit up when piloting him. It's so frustrating having to get off and on every two seconds.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
M30 cont. spoilers: Like I'm cool with the idea of it,
the long car ride surrounded by Skull Face's army as he reveals his side of things. It looked fine. I'm also cool with the game having its own MGS3 ladder in this form. But yeah, I mean, this could be my least favourite cut of any cinematic sequence in the series. I can't find any salvaging. Awful one sided monologue with a senselessly silent Venom. Underwhelming use of Sins of the Father. Stilted animations. Awkward silence. Like therealminime it was almost like it was bugged out. Just awful to the point of hilarity. I mean, if you liked it you liked it, but fuck me man. For a series that usually consistently high quality in cinematography and framing, and integrating of music, even with its excessive monologues and questionable writing/performances. There's really nothing as oddly stilted and missing the mark as this in any of the games. Sins of the Father slowly creeping in, no impact of monologue or visuals, awkward stare. I'm chuckling as I type this. That has to have been rushed, given the work put into the cinematics before and after.

I actually haven't used D-walker at all because Quiet is so good, and I only use DD for the Mine Clearing side ops.

I use Quiet for straight-up infiltrations; DD for tracking shit down like the landmines, prisoner rescues, and the wandering soldiers.

Yeah, mirrors my thinking.
Which is a shame, because I really like the idea of it.

Quiet can take out the Wandering Soldier with one hit, FYI. Just don't alert him, point your binoculars at him and use the command "shoot (tranquilizers)".

She can also find prisoners with the "Scout" command from the map, or you can tell her to clear the guard post and then wake up one person to interrogate him, he'll tell you where the prisoner is immediately.

This game is just so addictavley fun. I'll admit after the intial disappointment of the toned down story, the gameplay really makes up for it. Never thought a game would beat Bloodborne in the best gameplay mechanics this gen.

Are you guys also disappointed that the things you can do on Mother Base are pretty limited ? They really made a big deal out of MB, really disappointing.

I liked it just because I got a chance to totally steep myself in the atmosphere.

As an emotional/dramatic encounter, though it didn't work that well. Like... his animations kept repeating. Literally they repeated the same 2 minute slice of animations. It's a pretty short sequence. They should have either had him still or have one long stream of animations for every line.

Just bizarre. I was chuckling myself from time to time.

And the editing with the music was flawed, too. Liked the cutscene at the other end, though.

How can I recruit Quiet? All she does is
laying in her cell
. There was a cutscene
with the helicopter
and that's all that happened. Is it a matter of time?

nope mother base was always going to be just a place to be invaded and defend from

What I thought I thought you would be able to do was design your base, but you cant do that

Mother Base is really baffling, let's make this huge huge platform where player does next to nothing in there! great idea.

So i just got to chapter 2...

was that like.....it? I know there is a true ending but does any story really happen outside of doing whatever it takes to get that ending? Or was that, for the most part, the vast majority of story?

however Mother Base never gets invaded or defended :D FOB's do. And i would have loved to place my stationary weapons and assign guard posts or something to give it a personal touch. Now it's just a menu option to enable cameras and mines.

Try calling your horse or d-walker up there, or get wormhole.
Its probably just easier to develop the c fulton

Yeah that's I thought, really forcing people to develop it for such a limited use.

I really wish I could bully
Eli
.

And I agree that mission
30 sequence
was cringe worthy.

Chapter 2 has
like four important missions still.
Keep at it, doesn't take that long to clear them. If you don't get a new story mission, do a couple sideops you haven't completed yet.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Oh my god, Mission 30, that long cut.
That excessively long Skull Face monologue combined with Sins of the Father awkwardly creeping in, its climatic highs accompanied with no equal visual stimulus, as Snake and Skull Face sit just oddly staring at each other, is hilariously atrocious. I've thoroughly enjoyed all the cutscenes so far, the cinematography and editing is usually very good (Metal Gear narrative itself aside). But holy shit. Holy. Shit. There is no way that was intentional, surely. It's so, so fucking bad and amateurish.

Yeah, I figured you could do something during that. But nope, not even get into
a fist fight a la LIQUIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD./"SKULLFACE! SNAKE! IT'S NOT OVER YET! *guards all surrounding them ready to shoot Big Boss when he's the winner or something*"

that seems like so little! i mean obviously i havent finished it but as of right now, skull face is the most boring villian of all mgs time and this is the most lame story. hope something cool happens to change my mind

RIGHT?!?!?

i was like opening my idroid and stuff. it was so bad. they just look at eachother. even worse, snake has an idle animation active. he was like constantly looking away from skull face and looking around like he was bored.

at present the second chapter has more cutscenes than the first, after every side mission go to the motherbase, sometimes it triggers cutscenes

Made it to mission 16 last night. Should I grind to upgrade the fulton device, or just try to figure this out on my own?

Yep that was pretty bad. I was genuinely unsure if something hadn't triggered correctly. And the longer it went on the more unsure I became.
My favorite part is that Snake is on his basic idle animation where he looks left then looks right every minute or so. So I ended up positioning the camera just right so that whenever he looked right it looked like he was looking right into the camera thinking "what the fuck is happening." I love that Skull Face spews exposition about this master plan of his for probably 5 minutes straight and Snake just sits there like a statue and doesn't even react. It was such a bizarre scene.

I did the exact same thing and screenshotted it every time, laughing my ass off. It was the moment where I wrote off the story entirely.

Yeah I did that but then
QUIET DIED

I HATE THIS SO MUCH. I AM NOT HAVING FUN
It's a real shitty mission, that's for sure. How about
electronic mines and C4 where the nearby ones are expected to go? The electronic mines are amazingly useful
Failing that, the mission is, according to the task list, designed that it's actually possible to
Fulton the shit out of everything
so it might be worth working on that method.

But really I'd just not bother with the mission due to the reason I mentioned earlier :p

its honestly the scene that made the story disappointment settle in DEEP.

its a great little sandbox to run around in, but man did they drop the ball on plot.

I would recommend to grind for it. Especially for mission 16.

It helps that I'm having a lot of fun with the Side Ops, so it won't really feel like a grind. I think I need some kind of specialist for the upgradef fulton. Where would I find this guy? Like, easiest mission to run in and extract?

Traversal isn't the problem, the problem is D-horse being a buddy, that was the biggest mistake Kojima has made in this game.

The horse should be available at all times.

Horse is just a supply drop away, so it is available all the time. You just need to pay for it.

I agree that the travel system needs a little rethinking. I loved RDR's campfire anywhere as long as it was away from enemies and stuff.
