Metroid Prime 4 could be released shortly according to... billboard placed in London underground

lol 😂 the ad showing up below your comment for me.

Looks pretty legit to me. How could something like this get past several individuals though I wonder? Second, why would they sandwich it between Mario Kart and Donkey Kong and if they knew they were going to do that so soon - why not just have a release date announced already? Seems odd.

I assume some of these advertisements are sent months in advance.

Probably just someone making a mistake and having it put up early.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's gone in the next few days.

Was reading on Reddit, and they had a good point... it would make more sense to have the billboard say "Coming Soon" and then cover it with "Out Now"... when it is actually out, assuming that was the real intention.

Chalk this one up for laziness from Nintendo UK.

Not a bad theory. Maybe it did, but got blown off due to the proximity of the sign to the train.

If there's any truth to this it's probably the next game releasing a few weeks after DK. Wouldn't make sense to have this printed already otherwise.

Something doesn't sound right. The words out now is on top of something else ( you can see the remains of another bubble / shape that is covered by out now.

Maybe it was saying coming soon but someone fucked up and put out now on top ?

This is actually quite the clever marketing if the viral outburst on the internet was planned.

It doesn't sound right to me. I am not doubting the photo though.

The only caveat I will say is that they shadow dropped MP1 Remaster. Which i also found very odd, and believe it hurt it sales long term. Maybe they were pleased with the result?

Other thought…maybe with the state of the world, they decided to get everything out as quickly as possible?

The Pokemon Direct being announced in advance i get. That makes sense to me. They are worried about leaks.

Especially since it is a day before San Diego Comic Con starts. So, while they will talk about gaming, i expect the real reason for it is there is an tv or movie announcement. Maybe an American cartoon or movie, or Detective Pikachu 2?

BUT whoever came up with this strategy for Nintendo, if MP4 really does release this week or next. That is certainly concerning, and would continue this trend of being concerning with marketing. And continues straight up strange business decisions…

Not allowing reviews prior to launch, third parties not having access to enough dev kits, and the lack of transparency around everything…it is concerning.

It could just have been a blunder having it printed a lot earlier than planned in the Metro; it happens a lot, and they tend to stay there ages before another comes. The positive side it means it's for sure this year.

There is another simple answer. Was MP4 supposed to be a launch game and was delayed at some point?

Could this have been missed in this one instance with advertising?

So MP was supposed to be a launch title until quite recently, but got delayed I guess?

I wonder if it is really still coming this year actually.

DKB is looking awesome - maybe even GOTY - so, that plus back compat can carry them for a while.

Maybe they can push MP out further and give it more time to cook.

If MP is also great, and maybe GOTY level, then why stack this year with it? It can wait until February I'd say if it needs more time.

Either fake , or been put up early, no way Metroid coming out when Nintendo gonna push donkey Kong in July, could see a aug release so that would give Nintendo Mario kart June , donkey Kong July and then Metroid aug, which ever way I'm still crossing my fingers for tue coming Nintendo announcing a direct for wed

Nintendo's definitely up to something, I just don't see why it makes sense to shadow drop a game like MP 4. But if it's 2025, launch is only a few months away. I think it's just a glitch.

Maybe September to give DK time to cook?
Nintendo is treating Q3 and Q4 of 2025 as their "launch window" for the SW2.
Assuming they have a banger or two lined up for the holiday window; they are going to dominate.
