Microsoft wants to buy Metal Gear license from Konami

I hate rumors like this. It gives me hope. And it gives me anger when they don't turn out true. I don't need anger in my life.

Except Jim Ryan and the ultimate money hat tour to try and content starve Microsoft lol. This is nothing compared to that. Ryan was trying to time exclusive every zenimax game basically forced Microsoft's hand into purchase with the other money hats.

Could work as long as they leave them unchanged. We still don't know how the relationship between them and Sony worked. Microsoft rushes shit out and produces massive garbage. It's possible they can rush Blue Point to release something.

They don't give a shit about winning a gen via hardware sales, only the fanboys do. Right now it's all about services.

So Lance McDonalds who released the 60 fps patch for Bloodborne, and has been invited to Bluepoint Games in the past, tweeted this a couple of days ago. Didnt see it get posted. Lots of juicy info here. He talked to devs who were rumored to be porting Bloodborne to PC and they denied it. Then...

Sony didnt even extend their contract so they could support demon souls, and the creative director of demon souls (japan studios) left last week. so he clearly wasnt working with bluepoint on another remake.

the way sony wouldnt even pay them to patch in deleting characters tells me there was some bad blood between the two. im guessing ms promised them more money.

I'd rather Castlevania to be honest. The only MGS i kind of lliked was the 2nd game, although i tired to play it again not long ago and its so dated now.

Konami really needs to sell their IPs off. So many incredible IPs just locked away, dying. If someone could take MGS out of Konami's hands, I'd be so happy. I don't care who it is.

Then do Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Contra.

How are they going to be a monopoly when ppl around here claim Sony is going to outsell them 3:1 and they only matter in the US and UK?

Don't you have to have the lions share to be a monopoly?
 
I don't believe anything until its official, but its obvious that Microsoft is in a spending mood. I think they just spent $19 billion on some AI biz couple of days ago!

Better to get assets than pay tax. They can't recoup the tax, assets can gain value and make you more money, or they can depreciate and help offset other gains.

Paying money to the taxman is just money lost that can't work for you.

bluepoint has worked with ms before. they did the 360 port of titanfall.

sony seems to have their hands full with their own IPs, so maybe MS is the new Sony. at the end of the day, both console makers will be releasing their games on pc at one point or another so if people detest MS so much they can always build a pc.

Full remasters with new controls and graphics, plus directors cut enhanced cut scenes with a minimum of 30 mins each that you can't skip.
Plus a new game where it scans your eyes, you aren't allowed to control anything but the game changes based on your reactions.
Minimum runtime 300 hours, free toothpicks included. 😛

As some already mentioned, what more can be done with the franchise? Even Kojima is sick and tired of it. A remake of the entire saga would be nice, but that's it, the story is complete.

If this turns out to be true i will leave the internet for a couple of weeks. The amount of drama in the past months has been off the charts and this would surely break a lot of people
