And I would have taken the hassle to go to the store over not being able to play it t'ill the next day because it unlocks at 3 am. What a stupide time to unlock a game.
Haha I would totally miss my first class and just sleep in a little later but I did that last week with destiny. I feel guilty if I miss. Tomorrow my day will be over by 3pm though. Will get food/something to snack on, something to drink, and then play alllll day!
SoM is shaping up to be one of the most interesting releases of the gen so far. We have a "review" controversy thread in which people are starting to get worried that reviews were somehow "bought"
. We have another huge FPS/Resolution shitstorm inbound. Finally, we also have a dark horse GoTY contender that, seemingly to many, has come out of nowhere.
This could be a perfect storm. Still oddly calm here in the OT, though. Baton down the hatches shipmates!

Thinking about it us in the UK shouldn't be complaining about the 6pm unlock since the boxed copies come out here on friday.

Dude just get the PS4 version. You already know it will be good on there. Would it really be so bad so get it on your PS4 instead of your XB1?
You do not understand that other thread, but please do not do a disservice to others and coloring their first impressions by making up a complaint that isn't being made.

Biscuit should have taken the deal, because the game is the real deal. This game will win on it's own merit.
You are right. It's just I prefer achievements and the is. I know it seems silly. I did buy my ps4 first before the one and said I would use it for better performing multi plats. I just don't want a fluctuating framerate :/ Thx tho

May just go the PC route. I can get the full game and season pass for less than $35.

To be fair there were plenty of people questioning the review scores from big outlets because of the total biscuit thing. Enough that you even had to make a clarifying statement.
My only point in the post in this thread is that there is shaping up to be a lot of drama over this release that few anticipated. Sorry if I colored anybody's first impressions, I respect you a lot and think it's a great topic that needs discussed further. I obviously need to learn more myself.
That guy was streaming on saturday and said its 30fps but hes not sure about resolution.

Ive put about 6 hours in, half done main missions
Its a well made and fun game. Excellent combat, good music and interestig open world. The problem is there isnt much to do besides engaging in combat. At least with AC there is town exploring, platforming etc. dont get me wrong, the combat and story here destroy AC but thats all there is...

I've asked several times in this thread about the game world and what there is to do besides combat.
Is there nothing to explore? How is the game world? Is it interesting to traverse? Anything to find or any interesting areas besides the rocky grassy fields and broken stone walls I keep seeing?
Also, are the missions fun or are they all basically just combat?

My understanding is that there are sidequests and the open world aspect starts near the end of the game. I heard about hunting stuff similar to RDR

Ugh to this, gonna have to pass, can't do another repetitive combat game regardless of how nice it is. Destiny has already filled that void...if there ever was one.

Sounds like a narrowly focused game. I'm okay with having it be tightly focused on combat as long as it's fun.

I'm not trying to shit on this game. I think they did a lot of stuff right when it comes to debuting and pre-release footage so this is YouTube brand deal stuff seems very out of character.
To me this is not about Monolith or this specific game, as based on the reviews if you think Assassin's Creed or Batman is alright you will probably think this is alright.
It's about Warner Bros and the future of games coverage. (Think BF at launch and how brand deals mislead customers about the quality of the experience.)

Don't quote me on that though I'm going from what I remember hearing in a reddit iAMA and a from discussion here from people who have researched the game further. I didn't jump into the love bandwagon until like a week ago.
One key site said that WB aren't allowing keys to be given out until very close to release time (which is stupid since what difference does it make).

Yes, but exploring is all Assassin's Creed has going for it. The combat and 'platforming' are completely brain-dead.
I'll take great combat over that any day of the week.

It's not Silly. I play my multi-plats on Xbox One because Suspend/Resume and the OS. It's also a big deal on Sundays to be able to snap the NFL app. The resolution differences are neglible to me.
That being said, if it were only 720p on X1 that would be a much more significant difference than I'm used to. And would be slightly concerning. I just hope it isn't true.
