Looking up the staff on LinkedIn, despite some being ex-Rockstar dev's many left a year or two into development. Looks like the rest still there haven't got much experience of developing high quality games.
More journalism than any one at Kotaku has ever done.

Shame about this one in any case. Extra 2 years and it could have turned out good.
 
Ok, this CPR part is stupid.

Yup took me a good 20 or so tries to get. A real bullshitty early roadblock that is going to piss off A LOT of people.

So Im about 4.5 hours in and judging by the trophy lists still have a ways to go. So far I'd give it a 7. If they're able to iron out the framerate and make the gunplay feel just a bit better I'd rate it a little higher. The story, world and characters are driving everything for me and I'm enjoying the pacing. It's just go go go..until you hit that fucking CPR scene. So far everything after has been fine though.

I haven't had any glitches or bugs or crashes. It's really just the framerate for me that's the real bummer. That's cool they're pushing out another update within the next day or so but seriously, why didn't they just work on it for another month? July is basically empty anyway. Now all they're going to have to rely on is word of mouth at best. I can see it selling over a long period of time at discounts and stuff, but they really dropped the ball releasing it in its present shape. Again, it isn't broken or anything for me, but it should be playing A LOT better than it currently is.

This game is fine, the studio had some very stupid PR and the performance is, well, Unreal Engine strikes again I guess. But beyond that it's a pretty vanilla cover shooter with an interesting Mafia-style world traversal (open world but not) and its greatest sin is that it released in 2025 and not 2007. If this was a PS3 era game we'd probably be asking for a PS5 port (the way I am with Killzone and Resistance). We also live in an era where everyone loves to copy/paste the same funny criticism of a product under every single YouTube video about the game. "Oh wow 2007 called it wants its game back." On the one hand, this is no GOTY. But on the other, it's pretty refreshing to play a narrative, single player action-adventure game without any Souls-like elements. I have no doubt the Roblox players and the gacha players are going to laugh and keep spending money on Roblox and gacha, but personally I wish we had a few more games like Mindseye--good or bad--and a few less live service titles.

If they had maybe polished and debugged for another couple of months (maybe they were panicking about the GTA release when they originally targeted June?) it would be a much more enjoyable game.

As I thought - the blurriness is the DOF which you can't disable in game options (chromatic aberrations too)

The state of modern gaming and why games don't look as crisp as 10-15 years ago anymore.

Devs keep on adding useless shit like dof, blur and blurry AA solutions on top of the already cluttered postprocessing garbage that turn image quality into vaseline to the point where I need to enable three different types of sharpening filters in reshade for the "modern game" just to make the image look presentable and not like looking through the lens of Ray Charles's glasses.

Fuck UE5 and fuck modern devs' obsession on "filmic quality"!
 
Yup you're right damn time flies. Still dont see how this game is any worse than those, considering the Steam scores. This game at least has a nice coherent (so far) story.
Yeah,the one redeeming quality is that the game has a competent story. It should not be in the same class as those two turds which had no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I never even clicked on one of his videos before despite being bombarded by youtube's shit recomandations because his thumbnail faces just puts me off somehow... Reminds me of that unnatural uncany valley you get from that dipshit mr.beast.
 

The game looks rough but honestly graphically it looks impressive and if they do manage to iron out all the bugs and most importantly that awful performance then this might turn things around as it seems to have an engaging story to carry it. I just don't know if the team is big enough to carry these improvements through to the end. I kinda fear studio closure with how badly it's been received.

Its incredible boring. I watched like an hour and almost fall asleep. Gameplay design is from 20 years ago aswell
 
So I've been just watching different videos, not going to pay full price for this (but may very well pick this up off the bargain bin for some cheap, literally, laughs). And while the cutscenes look impressive up to a point, this game also seems to suffer from "weird mouth syndrome".

And it's far from the only one with recent releases, and this baffles me. How hard is it to get lip sync/lip movement right? Some, very few, games do it properly, but I think games from a decade ago did it better than most today. Maybe it's just rose-tinted nostalgia glasses.

have u actually played it or did u look at gameplay videos? do u plan to try it? do tell us if it has good 30 fps or bad 30 fps on consoles if u do so (i trust you in this matter more than anyone else)

I will not play it. It looks broken uninteresting I am sorry to say. Legit not interested.
Won't mind grab it later for 5$....
From gameplay vids. You watch a decent cutscene, drive around or fly drone and shoot. The shooting is terrible, npcs have no ai, enemies have no ai, it's full of bugs.

i think marsu and chuck play with dualsense and they say it makes the game more bearable so i'm intrigued about that now imagine if it had a demo I could actually give this a try then

sometimes decent dualsense implementation can elevate subpar gameplay to a tier above (driving or shooting). ubisoft games really do great things with dualsense so I feel like that helped a lot playing ac shadows and outlaws for example

this is something impossible to know without actually playing the game...

It certainly makes the shooting a bit better but not by much
 
Shooting in general in the game is great. My Elite 2 controller feels great playing it too. Though I run out of ammo too quickly with my automatic rifles. 😎

Yeah it's fun. Using that quick scan to make everyone show up on your minimap and around you and then its just pop-pop-pop headies :D

What looks impressive about this generic UE5 (asset flip) game? :D
The only thing that looks ok, are the cuscenes.

Once the quickscan tutorial was over, I forgot about it. Then I remembered shortly before I had to do CPR. But then I forgot again just now until you brought it up!
 
Jesus the bugs have been an utter disaster with what's out there shown. Yeah Benz is fucked lol.
Got to love moments like this in pure disorder. This game shouldn't have released like this.
