Hmmm...Cubs vs. Pirates to hope that hilarity ensues again with the Cubs or the nice Bailey vs. Lynn match up?
Decisions, decisions....

And no way in hell the White Sox play today, why in the world hasn't it been postponed yet?

The perfect game, nah, but I could totally see the 27 strikeouts.

31 strikeouts are a franchise record for opening two games of a season. Previous record was 23, by 1998 and 2003 #Mets

Elias says 31 Ks are most by a pitching staff in 1st 2 games of a season in modern history. So apparently not just a Mets franchise record.

so gonna be adding to that record

If this persists, this really is an issue that TC needs to address sooner rather than later. When we went on that abysmal run around May of last year, much of it was due to the Mets consistently posting very high K numbers. This lineup does not have enough power and ability to consistently produce runs to sustain that.

The thing with the Mets is they try to preach to the hitters to take pitches and draw walks. Then the hitters end up letting pitches right down the middle pass by, also the Mets don't have good enough hitters to hit with 2 strikes.

funny thing is opening day they were jumping on the first pitch fastball, something they havent really done before with Hudgens. but i agree about the hitters not being good enough.

There's a huuuuuuuuuuge difference between being patient/having plate discipline and being timid. Stressing drawing walks seems counterproductive; what they should stress (and teach) is patience and plate discipline; do those things, and the walks will come naturally along with better production at the plate.

Wandy, you're trash. The least you can do after being injury plagued, is be good the few times you do pitch :|

And Bonifacio with a double. He's now 11 of 14 to start the season. Jesus fuck!

Anyone want to trade for Papelbon? I can't stand that he is on the Phillies. Chronic whiner with no talent left. He's so out of place attitude-wise on the team.

But I swear he'll be good for you once he's gone!

How bout them Seattle Mariners?

They have 2 of the top 10 players in fWAR so far and neither of those players is named Robinson Cano!

Through 3 games the Mariners lineup has something like a wRC+ of 164. Last year Mike Trout had a wRC+ of 166. The Mariners are hitting like they have 9 Mike Trouts!

How many goats did Bonifacio sacrifice? Batting 10 of 13 is fucking absurd

Too bad he's undoing all that good with so many TOOTBLAN's: https://twitter.com/TOOTBLANTime/status/451499638601027584

so... guy struck out... got to first on drop third strike.
guy gets picked off... and the players take forever and get him out but... end up getting in his way and getting interference called to get the player safe on second...
lets see how the white sox continue to not get this guy out :/

ah... that's how... a fly ball to left that should have been caught but he will take a bad route and dive and miss and let everyone score lol...
oh well it's still early but it's looking crummy today.
