He's just an odd case because his streak has 3 split decision wins over relatively unknown guys (one overturned when he popped hot for Pot). 5 of his last 9 opponents aren't even in the promotion anymore.

I really hope they do something with that format soon. It's so played out and it seems like those who take part on it aren't going on to do much (an obvious exception would be T.J Dillashaw). The contestants all seem like the same people every season. Hopefully the next one being all women means the dynamic will be a bit different.

that Werdum bandwagon is going strong right now

my all time list is a little different

hw - Crocop (op can crushing and one of the few fighters with a legit finishing move, the fighter to initially get me into MMA)
lhw - Chuck (for beating Wand and putting the final nail in Pride's coffin)
mw - Anderson (the antics, the skill disparity, and general essence of greatness)
ww - toss up between Hughes/Mach/Diaz (all awesome but I guess a slight edge to Diaz for being a badass and breaking everyones' will with his pillow fists)
lw - BJ(the only one who can really say he's one of the p4p greats)
fw - KZ (145 hasn't been around long, but KZ always defies the odds and puts on great performances)
bw - Dillashaw (i knew the kid had it in him but goddamn he made my jaw drop with that beatdown of Barao)
flyw - lol.. Dodson?
wbw - Rousey's cool and all but looking at her division, there's no one that could even be a remote threat. safest golden goose the ufc could ask for. I like how Holm legit finishes everyone though

He stopped the Travis Browne bandwagon, which only got started after a win via illegal elbows. Werdum was an instrument of MMA karma, dashing hopes and dreams at least as satisfying as when Browne took out Overeem. But Browne could not erase his cosmic injustices so easily, so Werdum has swept in to play the part of the challenger we deserve.

I love it when MMA sites post stuff citing "undisclosed sources close to the organization" that, oh my god, reveal pretty awesome stuff about said organization.

This kind of garbage only works in fandom journalism where reporters are afraid of getting BANNED or on the shit list of the mighty Dana/Bjorn.
